LB Andrew Sweat (2011-12 B1G Outstanding Sportsmanship Award winner)

Recruiting: Trinity LB expected to pick Buckeyes
Thursday, May 31, 2007

By Mike White, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Andrew Sweat, a heavily recruited linebacker at Trinity High School, is expected to make a verbal commitment to Ohio State today.

Sweat will hold a news conference this evening to announce his decision. A 6-foot-2, 225-pound junior, Sweat was recruited by colleges across the country. He had narrowed his choices to Pitt, Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan and Ohio State. Then last week he trimmed the list to Ohio State and Notre Dame.

Sweat made unofficial recruiting visits to Ohio State and Notre Dame this weekend.

Unless this guy's journalism is like Dennis Dodd's from cbs.sportsline.com (published something on ND's QB derby a day early - and got it wrong), Sweat is a Buckeye. Nice get.

Thank you... It's not over 'til the announcement, but it looks good for us at this point...

And Dennis Dodd is a moron... I can't see how he still has a job... Yellow journalism to the max...

Can anyone with premium confirm whether the time is 5:00 or 5:30? I work about five minutes from Trinity's football field and am thinking about going.
According to the BG article, he'll announce after his baseball team's work out, which he estimated to around 5:00 o'clock; other articles estimated the announcement time to be closer to 5:30. Better to show up early than to miss the announcement, I guess...

Looks like I'm cutting out of work early then. Thanks.
