LB Curtis Grant (National Champion)

 they have that now

I'm curious as how that worked out last year in Wisconsin. Another able body to sub in would be nice against the stable of backs they have available. Key word "able".

you'd be missing the current group if he was in . games aren't won with size and potential, which is all Curtis has for now. some guys make plays as youngsters when they arrive, but also make many mistakes that keep them from playing. others simply aren't ready mentally and physically right away. Curtis is the latter thus far.

He is a freshman adjusting to the immense uptick in competition and speed.

I'm not the one calling for him to play because OMGZ 5 star recruit. It's the coach saying he might see time at the SAM. Like you, I hope he's "able".

The Mike is usually the leader of the defense. He's typically calling all of the sets and putting people in their correct alignments. Maybe this move is something that they thought would hamper Curtis at the moment and they just want him to be able to read and react. The Mike usually has more keys as well as different pass responsibilities. The SAM can be aggressive on the TE side of the ball and maybe Curtis is going to get more time to use his size and strength against the TE's we'll be seeing in the coming weeks.

Nice to see him getting on the field, even if it is only special teams for now. I believe this is after the blocked punt.

I've looked at the replay of his blocked punt recovery and it still looks like he scored. :pissed: Cheez! he really moves well for a kid his size!

I don't think he scored but I did think it was a crappy spot. It looked like he landed well inside the one and they placed the ball right on the 1 yard line.

The spots were terrible last night. I swear they just put the ball on the closest yard marker to keep it simple. Yeah, he was at the half yard line on that play.

Nice pic, jwins!
Watching the video looked like he wasn't down short.
And the spot did look waaay short of where he was down. Play wasn't stopped very long but I assume it was reviewed in the booth.
Maybe I just assume too much, though. :tongue2:
Physically that is one impressive kid!
