In a recent development, Mark has put tOSU among his favorites. USC (no offer) is his leader over tOSU, Louisiana State, and Miami (all offers). He also holds offers from
Florida, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Cal, UNLV and San Jose State. Mark plans to take all of his visits before deciding. Mark is a teammate of top RB/DB prospect Stafon Johnson and DE recruit Keith Browner (Cal verbal).

He's got fantastic measurables, that's for sure. 6-4 230 and still running a 4.5 is incredible. Does anybody know if he's a Mike, Sam, or Will. I know I read somewhere that Homan was going to play Will. I'm pretty sure the staff is looking at Gibson to come in at the Sam spot. That means for this class that we need a Mike yet (assuming we get Gibson, but his last update sounded promising). The only other two Mikes I can think of after MDA and Anthony are Hoobler and Spitler. However, we have Terry, Laurinitis, and Homan for the Will spot, and we have Freeman, Brandon Smith, possibly Lenix, and hopefully Gibson. That leaves the Mike spot the least deep of all 3 LB positions. Thanks in advance.

Not meaning to discount anyone else, but with Hoobler, Homan, Lennix and Freeman on the roster if we should add Gibson I think we will find a Mike by moving folks around. It would take one hell of a recruit to come in and keep three of those names from a starting spot. Best 11 on the field.

True, but the coaches have already said to expect a lot of rotation at LB this year... it stands to reason that with a continued influx of talent, the rotation would continue (provided the backups play up to standard), making it easier for the 'young pups' to get decent PT fairly early on in their careers.

Does anyone know who is recruiting him? I believe it may be Fickel, but I'm not exactly positive. With the Cali kids and the MD kids, Fickel has got to be the recruiter of the year. This is a great job by the staff as Mr. Johnson seemed like he was long gone to USC.

the only thing i'd be wary of is him demoting USC on his list to try to force their hand with an offer. i know they have offers out to Bradford and Tatum at LB, so maybe they won't be offering Mark.
i thought that as well. until bradford or tatum commit usc wont offer. usc also has several lb offers out to some kids in florida like aj jones and one or two more, so maybe they wont be offering at all.

either way, my prediction for this kid is as follows:

he visits osu on 9/10 and has a great visit. he talks about how much he likes osu, maybe even calls us his leader. as time goes on, osu slides back to the pack and he ends up making a january decision in which he opts to stay on the west coast, and the cat calls of jt cant close begin once again.

Only thing is I don't know if Bradford will be a trojan. Sounds like UCLA can win out here. I think they will definetly get Tatum and make a run for Jones. Plus with all of those 5 and 4 star guys from the last 2-3 years they really only need 1 or 2 LB's this year. I tend to agree with Tsteele for some reason. Maybe it's because he hasn't mentioned us in awhile untill now but the same thing with Bowman and now our chances are great. Appears Fickell is kicking some recruiting butt. I do agree with a texas visit we do have a shot though. Hopefully he decides shortly after. It will increase our chances dramatically.
