To no one's surprise, Glenville had many spectacular performances in the Fitch Regional on Thursday but they're currently tied for fourth in the standings. GlenOak (with 16 team points) has the most points and lead all the boys teams but the Tarblooders have many opportunities to win points during the finals on Saturday

Lenix was part of the 4x400 and 4x200 relays and turned in the third-best time in the Division I 200 (21.86)

Freddie got 4th in the 100 meters in 10.99 seconds, helped set a state record on the winning 4*200 meter relay team, finished 2nd in the 200m in 21.75 seconds, and was also a part of the winning 4*400m relay team. Clearly he was the best runner on the repeating state champion Tarblooder team.

More than a few future Ohio State Buckeyes were in action at the state track meet over the two day event and there also a couple of others participating that fans who follow OSU recruiting are aware of. To no one's surprise, Glenville won the team event in a big way and Brain Hartline came through in a similar fashion in his two meets.

Sophomore sensation Brandon Saine of Piqua won the 100 meter sprint in a time of 10.86 seconds. Freddie Lenix of Glenville finished fourth with a time of 10.99 seconds.

Lenix was a member of the 4X200 relay team that easily won their event with a time of 1:25.09. From left to right in the picture are Andre Evans (anchor leg), Lenix (2nd leg), Derek McBryde (3rd leg)and Ray Fisher (1st leg).
​

Lenix widened the lead as the third leg of the winning 4X400 relay team before Glenville won it easily in a time of 3:16.58.
​

It was the last race that O'Neal and Lenix would run together at Glenville.
​

The winning relay team in the 4X400 consisted of Evans, O'Neal, Lenix and Fisher.
​

Head track coach Ted Ginn Sr. was making the PR rounds after the race to do what he does best...promote his kids.
​

The Glenville family won their third consecutive state track championship and their 13th title overall in their school's history.

In the most recent BSB Freddie stated that his greyshirt decision had nothing to do with academics, but it was solely OSU's decision for him to greyshirt?

He was disappointed but he really wants to play for OSU so he decided to stick with it.

Freddie also had these things to say in an O-zone interview:

Lenix, the speedy linebacker from Cleveland Glenville, will have to wait awhile before suiting up for the Buckeyes despite his participation in the North-South game.

"They've got me wearing a gray shirt because I didn't get accepted by the University," said Lenix.

"I was approved by the clearing house and my grades were good. I don't know the reason I didn't get accepted. The next best thing is a gray shirt," said Lenix.
​

Lenix will attend Cuyahoga Community College this fall in the hopes of gaining entrance to Ohio State this winter.
​

"I'll be at Tri-C in Cleveland taking some classes that are transferable to Ohio State," said Lenix.
​

"To me, it was a down thing for me, because it's a whole year off football. I need that year just to get set, but it does give me another year to mature more and go down there with the right mind-set."
​

The OSU coaching staff has given Lenix a simple mandate while attending community college.
​

"Just to keep my grades up. They told me to keep a B average and I'll be good going down to Ohio State."
​

According to Lenix, the suggestion that he attend community college came from the OSU coaching staff.
​

"They said it still gives me a chance to come down and play for them," he said.
​

"Coach Tressel came down and told me personally. It was good that he did it that way instead of finding out some other way."
​

Lenix was refused admission to OSU after signing his letter of intent with the Buckeyes. According to Lenix, he never considered going anywhere else except OSU.
​

"It wasn't a big thing. A lot of people thought that since I could have gotten a release I would probably leave and go to either Wisconsin or Iowa or Michigan State, but I'm going to stay. I never asked for a release. It's really important to me going to Ohio State. I've got a one-year old son and that gives me chance to stay close to him. Another big thing for me is that I like playing in Ohio. It gives me a chance to play here," Lenix said.

He has a far bigger chance of making it to the next level if he plays at Ohio State vice Cincinnati. I'll believe this when Lenix himself announces it. Does your source know how to spell his name correctly?

Not sure on the far bigger part. He'll probably get on the field faster at Cinncy. The comp might be weaker but not all that much and it gives him more of a chance to stand out. Plus the NFL puts a lot of stock in the workout camps. Which is the perfect situation for Lennix to shine with his speed. That Shelton kid sure wasn't hurt by transferring from Fla St to Louisville.

How many NFL caliber LBs are going to keep him on the bench? MDA probably would have been drafted had he played for UC and done well against his weaker opponents and wowed the scouts with his measurables...
