LB Raekwon McMillan (New England Patriots)

SI covers it:

Another coveted 2014 prospect is off the board. Liberty County (Ga.) High linebacker Raekwon McMillan announced his decision to attend Ohio State on Monday, beating out Auburn, Georgia, Clemson and Alabama. In a ceremony broadcast on NBC Sports Network, McMillan cited early playing time and the Buckeyes’ family vibe as the reasons for his commitment. He fumbled with an Alabama hat before ultimately grabbing an Ohio State cap.
“It was just something special about Ohio State University,” McMillan said on NBCSN. “Every time I visited the school. Every time I talked to coach [Urban] Meyer on the phone. Every time I talked to coach [Luke] Fickell. Every time we sat down to talk. We just had a special bond.”

The way he ran the ball in his highlight film made me think that this could be another Myles Jack type of player. Not that we need any help at RB but you never know in a pinch.
Could Raekwon ever see action as a DE of some variation in at least certain packages? I'm just curious if he adds 15 pounds of muscle to 250 or he just a crushing force in the middle LBer at that point?

Let's just be happy if he lives up to the hype and contributes as a linebacker.

For real! RB and DL are maybe the two positions with the best depth on this team! We had 1 reliable LB all year, and no depth behind the starters, especially once Trey Johnson got dinged up. Let's hope McMillan gives us 2 to 3 years of dependable linebacking and consider ourselves lucky.

Thank you! We just got the #1 rated Inside LB, when we've been complaining all year about the depth at LB, and now there are clamor for him to switch to positions where we have immense depth... Puzzling

I have a feeling Perry will still be playing one of those spots. Call it a hunch. But if Kwon can come in and pickup the playbook, you know he will see the field.

All OLB better step it up because Dante booker, (when fully recovered) kyle Berger and sam hubbard are not going to concede starting spots and have just as much talent to play with kwon

Thread cleaned up & a couple warnings handed out. Friendly debate regarding commits/prospects is fine, but that was starting to get a little personal......back to Kwon.
