Shazier Big Ten defensive player of week record-tying fifth time
By TIM MAY

Ohio State linebacker Ryan Shazier was named the Big Ten defensive player of the week for the second straight week – tying the record for five in a career -- after his 20-tackle performance against Indiana.

Among the plaudits the Big Ten cited this morning from his play in the 42-14 win over Indiana were he:
-- Achieved a pair of program records against Indiana, recording 16 solo tackles and 5.0 tackles for loss.
-- Finished the day with a career-best 20 tackles, which included a sack, a forced fumble and a pass breakup.
-- Became the first Buckeye with 20 tackles since A.J. Hawk in 2004, matched the 16 solo stops set by Tom Cousineau in 1978, and tied the 5.0 tackles for loss record held by four other Buckeyes, achieved most recently by John Simon in 2012.
– Also tied the Big Ten record for most defensive player of the week designations in a single season with three.

First Shazier says this on twitter (via @BenAxelrod): "
Ohio State LB Ryan Shazier on Michigan: 'I know they’ve probably given up a thousand tackles for loss this season.' ”

Michigan Fan and presumable neck beard responds with this on MGoBlog: "I say post this everywhere so the offense can see it. It's a jerky comment and I hope it lights some kind of fire under them."

Second Michigan Fan who's clearly had enough and is into some delicious schadenfreude replies with: "Why? The OL will just let the papers get behind them and tackle the RB's in the locker room."

:rofl::rofl::rofl:
