Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

Laimbeer got in a lot of fights with Robert Parrish...I wouldn't chalk them up to small guy bullies only.

Parrish was tall but not necessarily a huge guy. Your point stands though. Those guys fought and took cheap shots at everyone. Not just small guards. My point was that Lebron James coming down the lane at 250 lbs with a 40+ vertical is a little different than [/insert guard from 1990's name here] coming through the lane.

If only it were just about bullying. Nobody even challenges him at the rim defensively. It's disgusting.

That is my point. They don't challenge him because he is bigger, stronger, faster, and can jump higher than you. And if you do challenge him, you take the brunt of it not him.

And if you get posterized, so what? You're getting paid millions of dollars per year! He will convert an uncontested dunk 100 times out of 100. At least try to alter the shot, Jesus. These guys are supposed to be professionals, but the only team I've seen that has even one ball when facing him, not even a set is the Chicago Bulls. These guys got no pride, they just want to be invited to Lebron's next New Years party in South Beach.

I'm not sure this is true. In the regular season Kirk Heinrich wrapped him up to prevent a lay-up and LeBron complained about the Bulls being too physical and not making basketball plays in the aftermath. LeBron should be ashamed at that declaration, as he hasn't seen anything like late 80's physicality.

In the playoffs, DaQuan Cook gave LeBron a "semi" hard foul to prevent a lay-up, and then Miami immediately checked Birdman into the game to take a cheapshot on the first Bulls player he could, which ended up being Bellenelli.

I think guys try and get physical with LeBron, but it has alternative repercussions than you'd normally expect. Ian Mahimmi gave a regular playoff foul to LeBron (not a flagrant 1 at all) and the NBA upgraded it to a flagrant 1. In game 2, Sam Young had a regular foul on LeBron and was then given a tech after the play for not running away from LeBron and actually looking at him in his face. I guess he's supposed to avoid direct eye contact and walk in the opposite direction?

Anyways, it's embarrassing the amount of protection Miami gets. It's also embarrassing, the amount of dirty play Miami reacts with when someone does foul LeBron. Against Chicago, Chalmers throat slashed Noah, Bird Man tackled Bellenelli, Wade threw a basketball at Bellenelli. Against Indiana, Battier kneed Hibbert in the nuts, Cole punches West in the nuts, Wade dropped an elbow on Stephenson, and Battier has been targeting knees on box-outs.

In both series, when the officials overreact to normal playoff basketball, the games tighten up in terms of calls. After the disgraceful technical on Sam Young, Indiana was hit with 3 fouls in 45 seconds. Once the physicality is taken away from teams like Indiana and Chicago, they are really behind the 8 ball. Finesse basketball plays right into Miami's hands because they are one of the least physical teams in the league. Miami tries to act physical by taking cheap-shots, but in terms of actual defense, it's anything but.

the swings in this series have been crazy. tied 2-2. The officiating was terrible last night. Both ways. The missed shot clock violation the hurt Indiana was pitiful. And the ticky tack foul that LeBron fouled out on was ridiculous. I think whoever wins Game 5 is going to win this series.

The refs were awful, but the foul on LeBron was actually the best call of the night. LeBron measured that screen up and intentionally stepped on Stephensons foot to trip him. He got caught. I'm sure he didn't think the official would have the balls to make that call, but it was the right decision.

Yep, he was clearly sliding that leg out to trip, and I was very surprised the ref called him for it, especially since Wade went to the other side anyway.

That botched shot clock violation was absolutely ridiculous. How does every official in the building blow that call?

flipping through the channels and caught about 30 seconds of this crap. It was right during the supposed "shot clock violation" where Hansbrough got the put-back to put them up 11. Of course all the refs "missed" the ball very clearly hitting the rim. In the end, Indiana hulked up and pulled it out, apparently, but how anybody can think the nba isn't clearly rigged is beyond me. I saw that call, chuckled, and turned the channel.

the same way the refs can actually use slow motion replay, while having an angle that clearly showed the ball never came close to touching david west, and still "miss" the call.

the only mild surprise about the officiating last night was that it was so bad, yet Miami Heat nut-hugger Scott Foster wasn't on the crew. Dude was on Tim Donagy's speed dial next to Vegas bookies, is one of the most lopsided and putrid refs in the game, and people have been surprised at the horse abortion of officiating that were the last two miami series?

Video of the shot clock and lebron's foul?

Ball hit the rim 2 times and they never reset the clock.

LeBron did over extend his leg out during the screen, it was a foul. I do not think he intentionally stepped on the guys foot, but no matter it was a foul.

I do agree with the announcers that the foul was almost ticky tack when looking at the physicality of the whole game. Wade was punched in the back of his head once and no call, West got creamed on a moving screen with no call, Hibbert was wrapped up in a body lock by Bosh and no call, LeBron over extends on a screen and the whistle could not be blown fast enough. Hmmmmmm, refs making a big impact on a Playoff game to make sure the series is extended for at least 2 more games? No way. The NBA is such a joke anymore.
