Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

Also not sure what is wrong with a guy saying that he wants to be a global icon, I don't think he meant it in a egotistical way, I think it was more of he is trying to spread his product and basketball to be a worldwide sport.

I took it as his financial interests were more important than his basketball interests. That's just how I interpreted it.

Lebron passed up the GW shot again last night. I know that was his thing last year......does he still do that?

I'm not going to fault him for passing it to Pav for a wide open shot when he has 2 or 3 guys surrounding him. Look what happened to the Lakers last week when the Cavs threw everyone at Kobe and he wouldn't pass it. I think Lebron will take the shot if it's there, but he isn't going to force it like Kobe and Wade do.

Exactally I always faulted him for this last year, but come playoff times he had 2 game winners, but in game 6 against the Wizards he passed off to DJ who hit the shot. If he is going to get a wide open shot for a game winner for a good shooter instead of forcing up a shot between 3 guys then I am all for it...

He was double teamed and just had a bullshit charging call on him a minute earlier, so I can't blame him.

Agree on Kobe, he's going top take that shot no matter what so triple up on him.

DWade doesn't have to pass because he knows it's either going in or he's getting the call.

I wonder how Bosh is feeling today after that 'Brazilian' he got last night!

LeBron is expecting son

Second child is due in mid-June; parenting adds responsibility, he notes

By Brian Windhorst

Beacon Journal sportswriter

CLEVELAND - LeBron James is soon going to need another courtside seat.
The Cavaliers star said Tuesday that he and longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson are expecting their second son in mid-June.
James, who became a father two years ago, said having a family has already changed him.
``There's more responsibility,'' James said. ``There's the carrying on of the name. It's not letting my son down, or my other son. Just being respectful of my family, that is what is important to me.''

From above link:

James said he has become a fan of Ohio State's No. 1-ranked basketball team. Whether the Buckeyes want to or not, they are about to become fans of James. Starting in the Big Ten Tournament, the Buckeyes will become the first team to wear James' ``LJ23'' logo on their uniform and will also be issued James' signature shoes. In the past, Ohio State has simply worn the standard Nike swoosh. CNBC first reported the story.
``Ohio State is my pick in the tournament,'' James said. ``I just like the way they play; you got four freshmen out on the court. It reminds me of when I was a freshman in high school and the things we did.''

Yea. I'm not even a Cleveland or LeBron James fan. Honestly I think he is overrated because of all the hype he receives.

Overrated? I guess you're right--all he's done is put up ridiculous numbers and lead his team to an improving record every year he's been in the NBA, despite the fact that he's surrounded by virtually no talent (for NBA standards, anyway). You clearly are an unbiased fan who knows a lot about basketball. :roll1:

DWade is not overrated, just overprotected from the officials. Of course, he does have a ring.

Ah yes, the age-old intelligent argument that a player must be great just b/c he has a ring. :roll1: That argument is a lazy man's way out, as it takes zero analysis to make. And it's probably just as often untrue as it is true.

Wade is overrated. He gets way too much credit for winning the NBA title last year. I can name at least seven NBA guards who could've replaced Wade and the Heat still would've won it all last year. Wade is good, but he's not even close to being the best player in the NBA. To the extent that he's often referred to as such, he's vastly overrated.
