I doubt Carr would raise hell over something as ridiculous as this bag thing if he were about to retire soon after. That just overshadows his retirement and tarnishes a pretty good career he's had at UM.

Good ol' BrettGoBlow is saying that LLLoyd might have Parkinson's and could be retiring after the season.

The usual name (Urban) is being mentioned as one of the possible successors, along with Les Miles.

I think what he is getting at is would Les Miles leave the otherOSU early to go to Michigan before our bowl game with them. The answer is no because LLoyd would stay through the bowl game and probably beyond to get things in order for the new coach (and this is still a huge rumor and a terrible one if the parkinson's is not accurarte). It would not be like a firing where the guy is here today but not tomorrow. Buck fans don't understand this concept as all of our coaches are fired and there is no smooth transition. STILL just a rumor...

I love how Michigan fans quickly say that Meyer will turn Michigan into a powerhouse, if this is all true (i highly doubt it). Meyer is a midmajor coach, he is good at sneaking up on the big boys with a gimmicky offense. He will do no better than Spurrier at a major college.

While I see why Meyer is a very hot commodity right now... Is he even good at sneaking up on the big boys? I don't even know what his best win is...

Having said that, and I think Utah is getting what is deserves with a BCS bid... but to say they didn't play anyone is an understatement. I was laughing my ass off when I heard their fans asking for Oklahoma (Right after they beat BYU). Be very careful what you ask for.

Also- I've been noticing that BGSU hasn't really lost a step without him.

Hosnetly- I think the Spurrier argument is pretty iffy. I was telling a Penn State grad 'friend' of mine that he would Meyer at Penn State would eventually be Tiller at Purdue... not saying that's bad... but that's how I see it.

He has to learn that there is more to a team than an offense, true champs always have a smothering defense.

Les Miles coaches at Oklahoma State.

The BN thread is here: http://mb6.scout.com/fohiostatefrm1.showMessage?topicID=34254.topic

I think, even if we play the other OSU, this won't have any impact on the Alamo Bowl.

I got zero hits from google news on Carr with Parkinsons

"He will do no better than Spurrier at a major college."

Do you mean how'll Spurrier do at South Carolina? Because I could see it being more difficult for him to win there.

He won something like 6 SEC championships and a National Championship at UF in 10 or 11 years, so hopefully whoever goes to UM doesn't equal that accomplishment.

I sure hope he doesn't leave. I would really miss seeing him on the sidelines.

I am enjoying this to no end.
scUM fans are convinced that Carr is John Cooper in Maze and blue and they have visions of 2-11-1 dancing in their heads.
When Michigan loses their first game next year I will not be able to resist going over to the scUM fan forums.
I think Carr is losing fourteen starters off of this years squad. Next year could be a struggle for scUM and that'll have the fans screaming! :slappy:

I don't understand this "can Meyer sneak up on the big boys, and he is a mid major coach" BS.

Our head coach came from D1AA. I don't think he had any history of sneaking up on the "big boys" either. The hipocracy kills me.

Urban Meyer has been a head coach at 2 unknown schools, and has brought them both up into the upper echelon of college football without the facilities, money, or tradition of a major school. I think that looks pretty good.

Imagine what he can do with a good recruiting base, a top notch school, and top notch facilities.
