The rule does refer to being blocked out of bounds. However, all of the examples in the rule interpretation refer to a player being forced out. The scUM DB gave Gonzo a shove out with the hips, and that is what the field judge saw when he threw his hat. The same rule bit the Buckeyes in 2002 at Illinois when Brandon Lloyd went out of bounds on a 3rd down play and came back in to catch a pass that extended a drive that ultimately resulted in an Illinois TD.

Losing with class

Now, now Lllloyd. You need to show a lot more dignity and class when coming off a lose in the big games. There is absolutely no excuse for your constent whinning or complaining about bag sniffing dogs or incorrect calls by the refs. It's time to grow up, Lllloyd. No excuses for your actions after all the practice you have had over the last 13 games again tOSU, Nd and bowl games. When will you learn, next year when you are 1-16?

Speaking of the officials on Gonzo's catch, I wonder why LLLLoyd's not complaining about the lack of a very obvious interference call on that play?

Or the 2 or 3 times earlier in the game when even though the play clock had run out, scUM was not penalized for delay of game?

Or the ridiculous interfenerece call they whistled Everett for earlier in the game, allowing scUM to score a TD instead of having to settle for a FG?

Or the ultra ridiculous excessive celebration penalty they called on Holmes for diving into the end zone that set scUM up in great field position, practically handing the game to them?

Because to do these things requires backbone and class.

Characteristics both physical and moral of which Carr has a conspicuous absence.

The absolute best part to me:

On if he would ever run the spread:
"I like what we do offensively. I think we will always be able to recruit great quarterbacks, great tailbacks, and wide receivers. I don't have any problem with the spread offense because I think it's had a lot of positive things. But I think to use a quarterback as a tailback is not something that I want to recruit to."

I've been saying this for a while and he just proved it. His teams are built from the ground up to run a power I and stop the same kind of offense. His stubborness is what I have been praying for.

"I'm 7-4 this year, can't beat OSU, ND or win a Bowl game to save my life...but I'm not changing a damn thing." might as well be what he says.

God bless that man and may his stay at scUM be a long one.

That explains alot. UM can't stop the "spread offense" because their dumb ass head coach doesn't even know what the hell the "spread offense" is! :tongue2:
