Longtime Ohio State commit visits Big Ten nemesis

The Spartans played host to one of the Buckeyes verbal pledges over the weekend.
If you don't follow recruiting one thing you should know is things don't always go as planned. After recently being asked to take a greyshirt offer from Ohio State, longtime Buckeye commit Todd Sibley (Akron, Ohio / Archbishop Hoban) is starting to hit the road to see what other college programs have to offer.
An all-state running back, and high school teammate of fellow OSU commit Danny Clark at Akron Archbishop Hoban, Sibley made the trek to East Lansing, Mich. to see what the Spartans of Michigan State are working with during their spring game on Saturday afternoon.
Committing early, Sibley didn't receive 30 scholarship offers like some recruits, but is one of the top running backs in the Midwest. With MSU and more programs surely to contact him in the near future, he is left to make the difficult decision to attend his dream school or go elsewhere to chase his NFL aspirations.
You might find yourself asking why did Ohio State ask Sibley to Greyshirt in the first place? One word: room. The 2017 recruiting class is filling up rather quickly, and with the Buckeyes sitting pretty with numerous top rated soon-to-be seniors, it left the coaching staff to make what was in no doubt a tough choice and ask Sibley to wait to officially join the Buckeye family.
While plenty of schools could come calling, some might have moved on. Before his commitment to Ohio State last April, Sibley held scholarship offers from the likes of Kentucky and Michigan. Since then, both have received pledges from highly sought after running backs.

Buckeyes offer elite receiver
If you want to be a powerhouse football program these days you always have to look towards the future. That is exactly what the Ohio State coaching staff has been doing as of late. Still trying to lock down top 2017 recruits, Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes have dished out scholarship offers to numerous standout 2018 prospects recently.
After giving Jahan Dotson a chance to sport the Scarlet and Gray on Thursday, Ohio State turned around and gave another soon-to-be junior wide out a scholarship just one day later. Receiving his offer from the Buckeyes on Friday, four-star prospect Jalen Hall (Los Angeles / Hawkins) adds OSU to his long list of potential landing spots.

Considered the top wide receiver, and seventh overall prospect in the 2018 class, according to 247Sports, Hall has his fair share of college programs currently pursuing his talents. Ohio State now joins the likes of USC, Auburn, California, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma on the hunt for the 6-foot-3, 185-pound Los Angeles native.
With two seasons left on the high school level, Hall has already put together an impressive prep career. During his career at Hawkins High School he has accounted for well over 2,000 yards receiving and 18 touchdowns for the Hawks.
2018 QB wants OSU scholarship
When you battle for national championships, recruits take notice. After recently hearing from the Ohio State coaching staff, one class of 2018 prospect is hoping to land a chance to play for the Buckeyes. Quarterback, and longtime Tennessee lean Emory Jones (Franklin, Ga. / Heard County) told Rivals.com that he held off potentially verbally committing to the Vols during their spring game after hearing from Ohio State, his dream school.
Yet to earn an a scholarship or visit OSU, Jones is just starting the recruiting process with the Buckeyes, but is definitely intrigued with what they have to offer. See what the four-star talent had to say about Ohio State, and much more, below:
