LS Bryce Haynes (Official Thread)

A waste IMO....

I remember people saying similar things when the Browns selected Ryan Pontbriand in the 5th round one year and it has turned out to be one of the best picks they made that year.

The staff knows their personnel better than the rest of us. McQuaide is a Senior this year and I'm guessing the underclass backups are not very well trusted. I would rather they use a scholarship and get a guy they know can do the job as opposed to having the long snapping situation be a mess next year. Seems like for as long as I can remember the longsnapper has gotten one of the leftover schollies anyway.

I'm fine with it, just thought it was weird. Although you'd like to see us add depth at other more pressing positions, but if we have no one ready at LS next year then I guess this is a pressing position. This position is a lot more important than people give credit for, it's just usually you don't have to use a scholly to recruit a guy who can do it well. And if you have to use a scholly, you might as well get the best guy out there.

Didn't it as an a knock on the kid. Just don't like the move with so few schollys and even less for next year. If the kid ends up a Buck I'll cheer my heart out for him. And what I do I know? The coaches know FAR more than any of us.

Imagine the kid being all excited about his offer and then coming on BP to see what people are saying about him and seeing comments about it being a waste. Everyone has their opinions about who should be offered but the players' thread is not a good place to voice dissenting opinions.

Already been accosted bro. Went to the dungeon and got my 10 lashings.

The kid can snap the heck outta the ball if that makes him feel better.

BN $ - Haynes Will Give Ohio State Good Look

12/9

By BK...his coach talks about his work ethic and what makes him such a talented long snapper and how he's great on coverage as well...Ohio State, North Carolina, Arkansas and Utah State have offered and Notre Dame, Florida, Alabama, Kentucky and Michigan State are showing interest.

That's it...my first born son is going to learn how to long snap...
