LSU Tigers (official thread)

I always like to listen to football banter, and the two of you do it well; hopefully it’s ok if I pick a few nits. It seemed to me that you bounced around a bit; bad opponent, defense, o-line, defense, bad opponent, injuries, etc. I think it might be better to have specific portions of the show that are dedicated to certain topics, and to keep the format consistent from week to week. For example:

  • One guy starts the show with a few remarks about the previous game. Two minutes or less.
  • Introduces the second guy to talk about a specific topic (players of the game or whatever). Two or three minutes.
  • Segue into separate portions about the offense and defense, 5-10 minutes each.
  • Special segment: It could be about Joe Bureaux and his Heisman Candidacy, it could be a weekly discussion on coaching decisions made during the game, even something about the whorehouse where the mothers of Auburn players work. Whatever it is, it should become what the show is known for.
  • Final section on the following week’s opponent that is split up into sub-segments where you talk about offense, defense, special teams and coaching one at a time and give each a grade as compared to LSU; or compare their backfield to your LBs and vice versa and their WRs against your DBs and vice versa... etc.
All of this is notional... the main point is to just give it a little structure.

Technical

I can only tell you what it sounds like to me; I’m no expert on these things. You might want to keep in mind that many people listen to YouTube at 2x playback speed. This seems to exacerbate any audio issues. Overall your audio is very clean, but at 2x, one of you guys (you I think) sounds a lot quieter than the other guy. You both speak clearly enough that you’re easily understandable even at 2x, so you’re way ahead of a lot of other guys out there.

Overall, really well done.

really appreciate the input.
we are trying to clean up the structure, but always manage to screw that up. lol.
as for the audio, we currently are using free software and recording it from a phone call.

About 15 years ago, maybe more, my favorite free audio software was Cool Edit. Since then, Adobe has purchased them, so I don’t know if there’s a reasonably priced version out there or not, but apparently it still does auto-leveling, which should be a feature available with any version of it. Here’s a video (dry as a mummy fart) showing how it’s done. Your software probably does this to; might be as simple as spending an extra few minutes adjusting levels.

Or you could just ignore my nitpicking ass

Heeeyyyy everybody, I'm Fish, Nootch sent me a link to read the critique and I wanted to comment.

Do you have any clue how difficult it is to make that coonass sound human??!!

But honestly, thanks for the nitpicking, but mostly for Joe!

I heard there's gonna be about 250 from Athens in Nashville to support Joe. Love this kid!
