Game Thread Marshall vs tOSU, Thursday Sep 2, 7:30 pm ET, BTN

I simply can't accept this.

I am going to tape the game on Thursday and not watch it until Saturday.

PLEASE - no one post the score or talk about the game until I get a chance to watch it. (I will make it a noon start.)

I like it. It's putting OSU in the spotlight right out of the gate. I guarantee that it will attract more viewers than it would on Saturday at noon. For those who don't like it and don't want to go.........put your tickets on this board, I guarantee you will get face for them.

Everyone speaks of traditions.........ect. I can't help but chuckle when I think about the bitch fest that will ensue when the Big Ten adds a championship game. Times change....the OSU name will never lose it's luster. As we have found in the past, those unwilling to adapt to the times will be left chasing. The Bucks (and the Big Ten) are back in the national conversation. Why not add to it, creating a buzz for OSU early on? Oh, let's not forget that it gives us extra time for Miami. I credit OSU for stepping out of the box and clearing some of the smug that can sometimes linger around a major college football power. Perhaps some fans should take notice.

Im 100 % sure I heard Fowler say South Carolina vs Southern Miss was the College football opener for next year on ESPN the other day. They surely wouldnt put tOSU on ESPN2 And SC on ESPN. I bet it's on ABC.

No way would ABC give up its Thursday night programming for Ohio State vs. some also-ran C-USA team. Maybe if it were OSU vs. Miami, but not OSU vs. Marshall. This will be on ESPN or ESPN2.

It's tradition now - South Carolina opens the season on national TV on a weeknight and looks like ass.

Just a heads up I heard that USC will possibly be playing their opener on Thursday night...so that will probably take some exposure away from us & that argument. Not sure on the credibility on this statement but just a heads up.

Otherwise, I don't like it but I don't dislike it. It's got "+" and "-" which have all been discussed. And to be honest as long as we win, I don't care what day we play.

What's a tape? Is that some new-fangled thing that's going to replace DVRs?

I make no secret that I am a traditionalist. No reason to be filling our landfills with perfectly good VCRs (if there ever was such a thing)>

To be honest though, traditionalist that I am, I have no problem with this scheduling - provided it is the first game of the season. Kind of excited about it really.

C'mon, it's TWO FULL DAYS less of a wait for the season to start! Those are the worst days for me

And the only thing on is MLB which most fans are Indians or Reds fans around here and normally aren't watching with interest.

If done right, this will give a chance for everyone around the country to watch Ohio State and see how much fun this team will be to watch next year (hopefully). If this game were a noon ABC regional game, most people down south or in the west wouldn't even think about the game, let alone watch it, unless they were an OSU fan. Now they will be watching, especially since this will likely be one of the first, if not the first, football game of the year.

It also gives 9 days between Marshall and Miami, which is a very good thing. Plus fall practice will start a few days earlier. Nothing wrong with that. Personally it hurts me, because I won't be able to watch the game. I will work Thursday night. But I think that it will be great overall.

It's OK. We understand when you say "traditionalist" you mean "old fart that still owns VCRs and blank VHS cassettes." :tongue2:

I won't get a BluRay either - didn't one of those kill the CrocHunter?
