Maryland Terrapins (official thread of the turdles)

MARYLAND DEBUTS ONE OF THE LARGEST VIDEOBOARDS IN AMERICA

Videoboard_1920_Cover1.jpg

Maryland Athletics debuted two new videoboards at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium this fall, including one of the largest in America which was unveiled for Friday's football game against #5 Iowa. The 120-foot-by-54-foot (3,600-by-1,620 pixels) display in the West end zone (adjacent to the Stadium Drive garage) is 6,532 square feet, making it the ninth-largest collegiate videoboard in the country and largest in the Big Ten Conference. The display will be the first in college athletics to operate end-to-end in 1080p HDR (High Dynamic Range) broadcast quality. This board replaces one that measured 49-foot by 30-foot, making the new LED display area nearly six times larger than the previous board, which was more than 15 years old.

Just sayin': Maryland's move to the B1G was all about the money and look what they can afford now. God article from 2012 on how it unfolded....

Maryland to Big Ten: ‘It’s money versus tradition’
December 11, 2012

“It’s money versus tradition,” Loh said in an interview. “Everybody knows there would be an outcry and we would have to deal with that. And, do we want to go through that outcry?”

Well, here's a bullshit article, i.e. strong case can now be made that Maryland has the best WR corps in the Big Ten.

Copeland is not very good. Has physical talent but piss poor attitude and is rumored to be a major locker room cancer. He gives half ass effort when the play isn't designed to get the ball to him and drops a lot of catchable balls.

Good luck with that Maryland.

That's the Locksley/Maryland culture. He'll fit in perfectly

Maryland coach Mike Locksley has found his new defensive coordinator, 247Sports' Brandon Marcello reports. Marcello reports that the Terrapins will hire former Auburn, Alabama, LSU and Clemson defensive coordinator Kevin Steele to fill the same position at Maryland; Steele most recently served as Tennessee's interim head coach last year after the Volunteers fired Jeremy Pruitt, and he also was the head coach at Baylor from 1999 to 2002. ESPN's Chris Low first reported the news.

“For him not to get the respect that the top quarterbacks in this country or in this league did is disappointing,” Locksley said, via InsideMDSports. “But it's not our job to prove people wrong, it's our job to prove ourselves right. And there's no doubt in my mind that Taulia Tagovailoa is one of the better quarterbacks in college football.”

OK, he maybe he was #2 in the B1G behind CJ Stroud last season.

OH, and 5 spots higher than (before the season starts) candidate for the Heisman....McNamara.....
