MEMBERS... inside please (fund raising)

Hey guys please stick to the topic of this thread. If you want to sell stuff to raise money for BP, your best bet is to list it on Ebay then donate the money from the sale to Clarity. I have a bunch of 50/50 tickets we could use to drum up some $$$ too.

Thanks, Chris

Idea

This is an idea for fundraising:

My sister is an artist. Shes pretty damn good and is about to go to college for it in St Louis. Me being a Buckeye fan, I decided I needed to capatalize on my sister and I asked her to paint me some pictures. She said she would do two of them for like twenty bucks. Shes going to paint me pictures of Santonio Holmes and Ted Ginn during the Michigan game.

This got me thinking...how expensive are normal paintings of athletes? Usually they are around 250 dollars. Now my sister, I talked with her about it and she said she doesn't know how much she would want. My guess is we could sell some pictures for 75-100 dollars on here because she is very good. (She was offered 150 dollars for a painting she did in 8th grade). About 50 of those dollars could be donated to BP and the rest would go to her. You can see how profitable this would be. The hitch is shes only 18 and has yet to paint me the pictures. The good news is she said she would do it soon.

If money was coming in she would do these pictures in no time I am sure. Shes a very good artist and would understand that time means money and if you give us money then you expect it within a couple weeks. I don't want to have her paint stuff that people won't buy though, especially because if she did and no one bought it...that money is out of my pocket and I don't have too much money. Here's the deal:

If you are interested in a picture, PM me and we can talk. I understand you have no idea what they will look like so as soon as I can, I will try and figure out exactly how to get pictures on the internet (I have a digital camera) and I will post the pictures. So please...PM me now if you are interested and surely we can talk about it.

For example, that picture of Eddie being chased by like 7 ND guys. If you send me the picture, and maybe give me an estimate on how big you want it, I will show it to her and see how much she would want. I will probably charge about 175% of that and donate the rest to BP. These would not be prints but the actual pictures.

If you draw a number 7 buckeye player from the front and don't draw a visor... it could be gamble as well as ginn...

...another thing ot consider for the paintings

I have nothing with Woody's sig. I almost got one a few months ago. A friend of mine runs his own business. One of his clients passed away and his wife asked him if he knew anyone that would want a bunch of old OSU memorabilia. He immediately called me and we went over to see what she had. It was like an OSU museum. Stuff from the 40's on up. Couple of Woody sig's. I offered her $1000.00 on the spot and she said, no she didn't want anything for it, she just wanted it all out of her house because it brought up old memories. She said we could load it all up that weekend. When my buddy called her that Saturday she said her nephew called and she told him about us coming over and he claimed it all. Came over that day and got it all. The thing that sucks is the asshole was a diehard scUM fan. He sold most of the stuff on Ebay. Anyway, like I said I have no Woody sigs and if I did it would be hard to come off it unless I had a few. So he is probably out. I have all of the rest that have been mentioned though. Looks like Eddie is leading the pack so far.

Scott Terna. :wink2:

I have a Woody autograph already and he sure had one nice signature.

I got it in his last years but it sure is nice. It's on that photo of him on one knee in Ohio Stadium with the whistle hanging around his neck.

Scott might be a tough one.... I don't know anyone that has ties to him. Nor do I know any websites like Buckeye Planet that he might hang out on.

does anyone have connections at the school that we could talk to spielman, about getting an auto for the raffle, and we could donate some to the server fund and some to the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research? Just an idea, if we could agree to have them at our "tent" for a hour or two before the game, we could raise quite a bit i imagine
