Game Thread Miami (FL) at tOSU, Sat Sep 11, 3:40 ET, ESPN

I think this game comes down to how much pressure our defense gets on Jacory early. If the big guys are in his backfield disrupting him like Wisconsin did early in the bowl game, I think the Bucks will dominate this one. But if Harris has time to get comfortable and confident back there, it could be a very close one. Here's hoping our defense comes out fired up from the opening snap and sticks it to the U. :oh:

::shrug:: I have no idea! I may just hit the BWW listed in the Alumni watch locations thread just to avoid the unknown. Thanks for your help!

Heading downtown now! I'll either be at mcgees or the district bar... Look for a guy wearing a red Buckeye Bar shirt from the Caddy Shack on Kelleys Island... Mention Buckeye Planet and I'll buy you a beer

Today is a great day. We've got football all day on TV, we get to see our Buckeyes strap it up against a southern speedy team, we get to see PSU travel down to Bama and tons more.
But today, and everyday for that matter, is a day where it's better to be an American. Nearly a decade ago we were attacked by a cowardly group of pansies. Cane or Buckeye, Republican or Democrat, Rich or Poor, it's great to live in a country with the ability to heal and recover from such a tragedy and be able to enjoy Saturdays like this one. USA! USA! USA! Lets go Buckeyes, lets have fun, lets get the 'Shoe rocking and lets party hard, but lets not forget what this day is really about!

Prediction: Miami can't move OSU's DL, and the safeties can comfortably sit deep in cover 2 or quarters-quarters-half. Miami, unable to get the safeties to bite on PA because the run is well controlled, can't throw the deep ball as they want. Harris becomes frustrated and starts forcing throws, which our safeties gleefully intercept. Miami scores no more than 17 points, possibly 1 TD as a result of a special teams play.

Ohio State runs the ball. And runs the ball. And then they run the ball again. OSU works to gas Miami's DL, forcing the safeties to come up to stop the run. PA then proceeds to eat them alive. Pryor isn't forced to run much, and he doesn't run much.

Basically, OSU's D will look like VT's D in last year's Miami-VT game.

Absolutely. Let us never forget what happened that day and the sacrifices that so many have made so that we can sit on our couches or in the Shoe and cheer on the Buckeyes.

A day doesn't go by that I don't remember that day. It was Coach Tressel's first game as coach at OSU (a win over Akron) on Saturday September 8, 2001. We also found out that we were pregnant with our first child that day. Then Tuesday September 11 happened.

Go Bucks!!

the visiting team brings the refs, like the rest of the major OOC matchups.

I had forgotten that rule. It's still a bit unsettling. College officiating can be downright scary at times.

I'll certainly take the home-field advantage, but it will be interesting to see how the flags fly....

McGees sounds like the place to be from the Chicago Alumni Association web site. I'll probably be taking the Metra Rail. Any idea what the walk is like from the downton station on Madison?

Take the brown line to the Armitage stop and walk north two blocks. McGee's is in Lincoln Park, which is going to be 2+ mile walk from the loop.

McGee's can be kind of a zoo--younger kid might enjoy it though. The Gaslight (also in Lincoln Park, near DePaul) is a little more sedate and mature Ohio State crowd--also far, far better food than the other Ohio State bars.
