Miami (FL) Hurricanes (1926-2003)

That fan is definitely in the minority! Most Miami fans are falling over themselves to try and get Miami in the B1G and get more brand recognition

That fan is playing it conservatively. There's 4 things that can possibly happen:
1. They stay in the ACC, and never win it, and Miami falls into nothingness. This is the worst case scenario for them and for him, and no one cares what he has to say. He'll be forgotten and so will his opinion.
2. They stay in the ACC, and become a power team in the ACC. If this happens, he can run around telling anyone who wants to hear, "See??? We stayed in the ACC and now we're winning it all the time!!! I ARE SMART!!!" Sure, you won the ACC. Good for you.
3. They leave to join the Big Ten, and never ever win it. He can run around telling anyone who wants to hear him, "See??? We never should have left the ACC. This conference sucks and now we suck. I ARE SMART!!!"
4. They leave to join the Big Ten, and they become a good team in the conference. Unlikely, yes, but let's put it on the table. Anyone who remembers his tweet or his opinion could shove it in his face. He'll blame it on X, Y, or Z, and say how even Miami was able to make it work out and Miami is the greatest team ever to beat even the stupid move that they made.

So, of the 4 options, #1 is a "who cares... whatever". #2 and #3 has him being the smartest person in his life. And #4 is very unlikely, and he can still figure out a way to claim a victory.

Miami leaving for the B1G only worries teams like Purdue, Rutgers, Maryland and Indiana. Their fans say they want OSU, because they claim to have beaten us the last time they played. Forgetting the fact it was literally in the 2011 year that we all want to forget and essentially disregard. They are also using the fact that Mario beat OSU at Oregon as some type of reasoning that he'd beat OSU again at Miami. Neither point makes any type of sense, but hey, I don't argue, I just listen. I always remember the quote about arguing with fools

Yea completely ridiculous. There's not a single year since 2011 that I even remotely think that Miami gets close to beating us. You beat our worst team since the turn of the century, congrats. So did 7 other teams.

Miami fans still bragging about beating us in 2011 is on par with South Carolina fans still bragging about beating mediocre Ohio State teams in 2nd rate bowl games in the early early 2000s
Miami fans are still bitter over the way they lost that NC to OSU. And how Tressel took down their dynasty and made them next to irrelevant 20yrs ago! This is some deep down bitter jealousy. And the fact they can't get good enough to ever face OSU in another bowl game

Their "best" team since the early 2000s in 2017 when they got to #2 ended up flopping in their final 3 games. Including a 10 point loss to a 5-7 Pitt team and a no show blowout 38-3 loss to Clemson in the ACC title game. That's the "closest" they've got to glory for the better part of the last 20 years.

The fact that a washed up Mark Richt is by far the best coach they’ve had in the 21st century says it all.
