No offense to Mo Wells, but it's pretty clear that Javon has been a superior back over his career. Averaging over 7 a carry this year, on pace for about 1400-1500 yards...averaged over 6 a carry as a freshman. He's always been fun to watch.

I remember how VanillaGoriila/Biatch raved about Ringer when he was in HS... VG was very adamant that OSU needed to get Ringer / accept him...

    THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Michigan State's Javon Ringer, eluding Indiana's Geno Johnson, is second in the Big Ten in rushing.

Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio calls Javon Ringer "the truth." "In every respect," Dantonio said of his junior running back. "As a player, as a person, as a man of faith. Academically, he's an extremely hard worker. He carries himself just like you would want your son to carry himself. I can't say any more about Javon."

Having seen Javon play numerous times at CJ I was one who really wanted him at tOSU. That stuff usually works itself out and Javon has had a great career at MSU, except for the injuries. Imagine what he'd have done with Tressel instead of John L. Smith?!

C-J's Ringer wanted to go to Ohio State

Admission standards sent the running back to Michigan State, where is thriving with the Spartans.

COLUMBUS ? Ohio State's defense may have a hard time getting its hands on Michigan State running back Javon Ringer on Saturday. But if coach Jim Tressel had his way, the Buckeyes wouldn't have let Ringer slip through their grasp in the first place.
The former Chaminade-Julienne star said Tuesday he wanted to play for his home-state team. But OSU's admission standards have risen since the late 1990s, placing some limits on the football program's ability to bring in academically borderline players, and ex-C-J coach Jim Place said Tressel couldn't get Ringer in school.

Since I haven't lived in Ohio since 1999, I never got to hear/read the back story to this kid. I have to admit that it's rather saddening to me. I feel it's a shame when a home-state kid wants to play for tOSU, he has the talent, but it just can't get done.

    Just interesting to think about.

I'm worried about Javon. I know he's tough, but he's showing some signs of wear, and he hasn't even gotten to the B10 portion of the schedule.

Unless a backup RB emerges, or the passing game matures to carry more of the load, I just don't know how he can last the season at this pace.

...somebody tell me I'm wrong, here.
