Well, that couldn’t have gone any worse. Pretty embarrassing.. 14-4 and we essentially quit in the 7th. I get that we have to travel to East Lansing for a game Thursday and it’s prettty hot today....just not a good look, imo.

Was hoping for a better offensive performance but only managed 4 hits. Pitching was what it has been midweek...lots of hit batters, walks, and surrendering bases loaded XBH. We’ve been giving up a lot of those bases clearing hits the last month.

That’s 45 runs allowed in our last 4 midweek games. That doesn’t bode well for the post season when pitching depth will be tested.

Midweek games are killing us. We’ve been giving up the ground we gain on weekends by losing midweek. Today’s loss may not cost us too bad it appears. Big group 1 road wins by Minnesota and Indiana have helped offset some of the damage done by our loss.

Sparty got pounded by CMU today, but they played Minnesota tough last weekend. They’ll be fighting for their B1G tournament lives this weekend, so they’ll be motivated for sure. We should be too because this series is every bit as big for us. A series loss to a 200+ RPI team would likely put us in bubble territory per Boyd’s RPI needs report. Going into the B10 tourney needing to win a couple games to get off the bubble is the last place we want to be.

Despite today, Our resume is still at large worthy and we’re comfortably in at the moment, but again....history has shown us that we can’t breathe easy until the very end...we’ve blown a few at large bids the last 8 years. :smash:
