He may be in his 11th season, but Nugent is still pulling off late game field goals like he did at Ohio State.

With what seemed like half of the Ohio State alumni on bye weeks, there were a few former Buckeyes who stood out in Week 5 of the NFL. Kicker Mike Nugent saved the undefeated record for the Cincinnati Bengals, and James Laurinaitis caused havoc for Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Boom makes his 2015 debut


Herron was signed by the Buffalo Bills last week amid reports LeSean McCoy will be out for a few more weeks due to injury. He saw some immediate action on Sunday with nine rushes for 28 yards but did record one fumble.

Bye week for a lot of Buckeyes


Several teams are on bye in Week 5 including the New York Jets (Devin Smith, Nick Mangold), Carolina Panthers (Corey Smith, Ted Ginn Jr., Kurt Coleman, Andrew Norwell) and the Miami Dolphins (Jake Stoneburner). Stoneburner was in attendance for Ohio State's Homecoming game against Maryland with Indianapolis Colt Jack Mewhort.

The St. Louis Rams linebacker was the first player since 2012 to force an interception from quarterback Aaron Rodgers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.

Other news


With Marshawn Lynch out for the Seattle Seahawks, they brought up running back Rod Smith from the practice squad, signing him to the active roster. He only had two touches for five yards in his first regular season outing in the NFL.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Brian Hartline was back following a rib and thigh injury last week, but only had one target for five yards.
