that MUST change......

Great kick by Nuge...

Hats of to Holmes.

Hope Zwick is growing from all this.

I didn't see last week's game, but my understanding was that most of the turnovers last week were Zwick-related.

This week he only had 2, albeit poorly timed. That's 2 more than I'd like to see, but he also threw for over 300 yards and for 3 TDs.

So despite the fact that we're turning the ball over way the hell too much, it sounds to me like JZ has progressed from Game 1 to Game2.

Lydell and Santonio need to protect the ball better as well.

For his second game starting (and the first that I've seen), I'm feeling *very* good about that kid.

We're a young team, I can't say I'm surprised by the turnovers. As long as they're ironed out by next week.

Clar - as long as Zwick is learning, I'm sure this is building charecter or whatever. His last pick was a bad bad pass. I dont recall his first one, so I can't comment.... (Brain dead)

Given his composure on the final drive, and the fact that he looked good much more often than he looked bad, I'm feeling pretty good.

All QBs make some bad passes. If Zwick can iron that out and get his decision making near CK's level, then we've got a star in the making.

I *really* like Troy Smith, but I was very unhappy to see him come in when he did.

The moment we start treating one of our guys like a starter, I think we'll see a marked improvement in their play. Right now, it's extremely difficult to justify that starter being someone other than Justin.

But again, I didn't see game 1. Also, I'm not trying to reduce the significance of his INTs. But I don't see them as more significant than our SR tailback fumbling resulting in a TD, or our top WR coughing it up as well. That Justin's came back to back following Santonio's is all that makes them stand out. I think had he had one in the 1st quarter, and another in the 2nd, then to some it wouldn't seem nearly as bad.

The bottom line is as a team they need to address turnovers on both sides of the ball. The offense needs to tighten up and protect, the defense needs to create some. Hawk should have had that first pick.

18/30 (60%), 322 yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs. I'm not complaining.

The composure on the last "drive" was outstanding. Didn't go for the HR, quick outs... Very good play.

Heads up on snapping and spiking despite not being set. Althought, I think a flag could have been thrown on Marshall for delay when they sat on Hamby for 5 seconds.

It's great really, because it means that as a team, if they can cut down some of the mistakes they will be much more formidable than they are now, and cutting down on turnovers is a good psychological edge because they will feel like they are improving and playing much better, too, so that will be a big boost of confidence. It is also a tangible way for the coaches to keep the kids' attention.

you could say that. you could also say he had this after the first half and should have AT LEAST 400 yards and another touchdown added to that before smith came in for mop up.

i hope zwick learned from this but im not very optomistic heading into NC State. if i had any vCash left i would vBet it on vNCState with points........if they arent favored :(

Real life games don't always look like what's on your console. Any Buckeye fan not ecstatic about every single item on Zwick's stat lines save that all-important '2' is on crack.

Not very optomistic? Why? We have just passed a tough test that wasnt expected but they faced adversity and came through in the clutch....Zwick was the reason we won that game boys....without him throwing the way he did we wouldnt have been in that game.....yes he made some mistakes, but I guarantee you he will learn from this and we will win next saturday vs NC state.

27....have some faith.....there were games last year we didnt even score an offensive touchdown and still won.....look at the bright side....michigan lost and Zwick was only sacked once all game.
