Mitchell Report Fantasy Draft

mross34

Rock, Flag, and Eagle
Me and a couple friends are having a little fun with the Mitchell Report being released on Thursday. We devised a scoring system to hold a fantasy draft. Feel free to play along.

1 pt for every season over 30 homeruns, 2 for every season over 45 homeruns
1 pt for every season over 100 rbis, 2 for every season over 130 rbis
1 pt for every season over .300 BA, 2 for every season over .325 BA

1 pt for every season with an ERA below 3.25, 2 for every season with an ERA below 2.75
1 pt for every season with over 150 ks, 2 for every season over 200 ks
1 pt for every season with over 13 wins, 2 for every season over 18 wins
1 pt for every season with over 30 saves, 2 for every season over 45 saves

3 pts for every all-star appearance
5 pts for every MVP or Cy Young Award
5 pts for every World Series Ring

2 pts for every Silver Slugger Award
2 pts for every Gold Glove

Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, Mark Mcguire, Rafael Palmiero, Jason Giambi, and anyone else already admitting steroid use are off-limits

You only get points for people who are in the 60-80 names on the list

We were thinking somewhere around 5 people and 10-20 rounds, being that a lot of people will not be on the list

Draft would go pretty much as a normal fantasy draft would 1,2,3,4,5 in the first round then 5,4,3,2,1 in the second round

Enjoy!

Baseball
Report to name some big names
MVPs, All-Stars expected among list of 60-80 players
Thursday, December 13, 2007 3:25 AM
By Tom Haudricourt

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

MILWAUKEE -- Baseball commissioner Bud Selig has been asked more times than he can count if he was nervous about the findings of the Mitchell Report.

"Why would I be nervous about it?" Selig replied. "I'm the one who commissioned the report."
That's true, but if Selig isn't nervous about the details of the investigation into steroid use in Major League Baseball, he might be in the minority among the game's officials and players. More than anything else, people are waiting to see which names will be named.
The Associated Press reported last night that the probe by former Sen. George Mitchell will finger MVPs and All-Stars and call for beefed-up testing by an outside agency to clean up the game.

Clemens Pettitte supposedly on list NY Daily News 12/13

Among the names expected to appear in the Mitchell Report today are two of the most revered pitchers in Yankee history - Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte.
According to a source familiar with information provided to Mitchell, Brian McNamee, the longtime personal trainer for the players, gave the former Senate majority leader conducting a steroids investigation for Major League Baseball information linking Clemens to the use of steroids and human growth hormone and Pettitte to human growth hormone.

this report is a huge joke

The MLB should be ashamed for allowing it to be conducted (and by a biased party)

Or perhaps MLB should be ashamed for allowing players to improve their performance with the use of illegally obtained substances, and basking in the false glow of tainted records being set during the "steroid era".

But hey, chicks dig the long ball, so it's all good 'n shit.
