Man, you really reached for that one.....
Speaking of......

c. To catch, intercept or recover a ball, a player who leaves his feet to make a catch, interception or recovery must have the ball firmly in his possession when he first returns to the ground inbounds with any part of his body or is so held that the dead-ball provisions of Rule 4-1-3-p apply (A.R. 2-2-7-I-V and A.R. 7-3-6-IV).

1. If one foot first lands inbounds and the receiver has possession
and control of the ball, it is a catch or interception even though a
subsequent step or fall takes the receiver out of bounds.

2. Loss of ball simultaneous to returning to the ground is not a catch, interception or recovery.

I didn't root for Iowa tonight as their jerseys reminded me of the steelers.

Bugs the shit out of me, too.

BTW, 2:00 am posts? Am I the only one who had to get up and go to work today? :wink2:

Good job, Hawkeyes (even though you cost me points and a vbet). :iowa:

[scUMfan] Winning is boring! [/scUMfan]

The Big 12 espn blogger typed up this gem. Gabbard "had one of his best games ever" up until the 72 yard pic six. I guess he didn't see the interception in the red zone to end the half that cost his team a shot at 3 points.

You can throw for a million yards, but you can't throw an int when in field goal range. Just can't do it. Throwing a 40 yard bomb that gets picked, as long as you tackle the guy doesn't hurt you. Giving away points does. So I guess "one of his best games ever" is leading his team to 24 points against a 7-5 team.

Frankly, I wasn't all that impressed with Gabbert. Completing 74% of his passes is impressive, but Iowa played 3 LBs against 5 WR formations all game - he SHOULD be completing those passes, because they're huge mismatches. Throwing 2 killer INTs easily outweighs throwing 1 TD. His YPA wasn't even that good (7.6). He threw for a billion yards, but only because his team barely even tried to run the ball (69% passing). In short, congratulations for putting up volume numbers with crappy efficiency. Then again, the guy who had Jake Locker as the #1 draft pick has you as the second best QB in CFB this year, so you've got that going for you.

Try explaining this to Mizzou fans. They also run "the offense of the future" where they just spread the opposition out wide and hope one of their 5 WR's gets open. They also can't run the ball worth a shit. When they get inside the 5 yard line they think it's still better to have 5 WR's.
