If the three have any value at all it isn't a terrible return for 1 year. If they keep him and he walks next year as a FA all they get is the draft pick.

Plus he showed signs of his bat slowing down for a long stretch last season. He's the type that typically doesn't age well.

That said, he'll likely find the St Louis fountain of youth and win 2-3 MVP's before finally retiring at 53 rewriting the "personal career numbers vs the Cincinnati Reds" record book along the way.

True though about only getting the draft picks if they kept him and he walked.
