Rays missed their chance in the 8th.
These managers get too enamored with their analytics and bullpens. Snell is your horse. You don't pull him with a 1-0 lead in the 5th of a potential clincher.
Cash outsmarted himself. Game got away from them as soon as Snell left it. Now he's got a game seven.
Yep, couldn’t believe he pulled him as he was dominating the Dodger hitters. Had already struck out Betts twice ...... hate to say it but he deserves to lose for that dumb ass moveRays gonna lose this in a case of over managing. Snell gives up a 1 out base hit in the 6th.....73 pitches.....Cash pulls him. Double.....Wild pitch, tie game. Fielders choice then gives the dodgers a 2–1 lead.
By the way, I have no clue if it was analytics, injury, original gameplan or just plain dumbassery by the manager but I need something to blame for this!I know I’m being the old curmudgeon and those days are never returning, but we’ve completely lost the plot when pitchers aren’t allowed to go over 80 pitches in an elimination game.
Soft, analytical, bullpen bs by most managers. Tuck and run at first sign of trouble. Good riddance, Rays.
