recognized, I am mentioning early thrash.
Pleasure to Kill by Kreator
Darkness Descends by Dark Angel
Bonded by Blood by Exodus
Black Metal by Venom
Beneath the Remains by Sepultura
Iced Earth - Iced Earth - 1991. Hard to classify these guys... but they've got a lot of thrash in them. I picked their debut album because I am not sure their influence is found in one album but more of the tireless dedication of Jon Schaffer.
Dark Angel
Sepultura
Oh, and while I'm at it, it's tough to forget to mention:
Tool - Undertow - 1995. This could be mentioned in my progressive rock post just the same, but it's undeniable that this album sparked one of the biggest and most fanatically loyal followings in rock/metal today. Tool and Maynard fans can be snobbishly elitist, but they certainly love their music and an entire new generation of musicians is already beginning to hit the stage influenced heavily by this band.
