NBA Discussion (Official Thread)

Darius Miles, Big Baby Davis, Tony Allen and Telfair are among the players to defraud the NBA health and benefit plan.

Former NBA players charged in $4M health care fraud scheme

According to the indictment, the scheme developed after Terrence Williams, who began his career as a first-round pick in 2009, submitted $19,000 in fraudulent claims to the plan in November 2017 for chiropractic care. The claims led to a $7,672 payout for Williams.

The indictment said he then recruited other former NBA players to defraud the plan and offered to provide fraudulent invoices from a chiropractor and dentist in Southern California and a wellness office in Washington state.

At least 10 of the former players paid kickbacks totaling about $230,000 to Williams, according to the court papers. A lawyer who has represented Williams in the past declined to comment.

Still, the 18 players combined to make $343 million in their on-court NBA careers, not counting outside income, endorsements or what any may have made playing overseas.

Just sayin': Apparently Terrance Williams was the (alleged) ring leader; however, I'd think that there almost had to be some doctor or medical personnel in cahoots with them to document the claims, etc.

Punk ass Markief Morris with the Flagrant 2 on Jokic gets him a nice little $50k fine. Both got suspended but I dont blame NJ for retaliating. That could have caused a serious injury the way he smashed into him. The shoulder check in retaliation is the lease he should have done.

Playing on a back-to-back and 3-in-4 nights vs Steph and the Warriors.

Luckily this is the 3rd game on their road trip but uh, I don’t think anything else points Cavs way tonight. Not a good setup.
Yeah I actually bet against the Cavs first half tonight. The competitive advantage without the entire front line is awful towards the Warriors. I love that they just keep battling though. Need starters back though to compete.
