2026 NC QB Faizon Brandon (Verbal Offer)

Dakorien Moore decommitted from LSU last week and re-opened his recruitment. The five-star wide receiver out of Duncanville (Texas) has been in contact with Ohio State, Texas and Oregon over the last few months and will visit each program by the end of June. National recruiting analyst Mike Roach said he doesn't expect any other schools to enter the mix and put the odds of him returning to LSU close to zero.

"Ohio State has a lot to sell," Roach said. "Brian Hartline has the best resume of any wide receiver coach, and he doesn't often miss on WR1 types. When Moore made his initial commitment to LSU, Ohio State backed off. They weren't being talked about as much as Texas and Oregon. They reengaged early in the year, and they've made a really strong push. They've got a proven track record of development. They've got an offense that features those types of receivers. They have a lot of those things going for them."

Roach said no program has recruited Moore harder than Oregon. Head coach Dan Lanning has developed connections with multiple family members and teammates and is looking to make one last impression on June 21, his final visit.

"I'm not sure there's a staff in this recruitment that's put in more work than Oregon," Roach said. "That's from top to bottom, not only establishing relationships with Moore, but his mother, several members of his family, his coaches and teammates. They have really gone all-out. They've got a great shot. They've been up to Oregon a couple of times. They love it up there. It used to be tough to go from Texas to Oregon. Now, there are direct flights from Dallas to Eugene. It's made travel easier. Distance is still somewhat of a concern for Oregon in this one. Oregon can start showing guys like him what they can do with players like Evan Stewart, who is so well-known around this area. A lot of these kids grew up Oregon fans. Everybody grew up wanting to wear those uniforms. That plays in their favor a lot as well."

Texas is the current favorite to land Moore. A trio of national recruiting analysts logged Crystal Ball picks for Moore to the Longhorns shortly after his decommitment. The Longhorns boast one of the nation's best passing attacks under Steve Sarkisian and have a strong pitch on getting him to stay home, according to Roach.

"Texas has hosted him on a couple of official visits recently," Roach said. "He has a lot of family in the Austin area. His mother is from Austin. He has lot of teammates down there, too. Colin Simmons, the five-star linebacker from Duncanville, signed with the Longhorns last year. Steve Sarkisian has shown that his offense is lethal throwing the ball. They've shown he can fit, he can develop and he can stay at home to do it. That's their strongest pitch. If you're looking at the long-term play, they can pitch the benefit of being a Texas graduate after football. They have a strong network of graduates. That's a big pitch they're going to be able to make. If I had to handicap him, I do like Texas at the moment, but official visit can change all of that."
