It's time to bring it!
I finally understand the recruiting better in this new game. A few things:
1. In season recruiting is all about making a player's final 3 teams. Once you get to that point, you can invite them to a game. I read in a forum that it's best to schedule them for the earliest game possible, and my experience last night proves that to be correct. Once a player has high interest, and they go to a game, they might commit on the spot. I had several recruits do this for me, and a couple of other recruits that I scheduled for later games never came because they committed to other schools prior to their visits.
2. Off-season recruiting is a bit more old school now. They still have player scouting and it now requires fewer points, thankfully. The point system has reverted back to earlier versions where you allocate recruiting points by making selections such as "Head Coach Phone Call."
3. It seems tougher to get a player if they have no interest in your school. Last year you could throw some points at a guy with low interest and he might choose your school. Now the game only shows the players top 6 schools or so, and no longer uses the previous interest rating (low, average, high, etc.) system.
4. Changing player positions does change their attributes in most switches. I recruited a power RB that had 85 SPD, and when I moved him to FB, his SPD dropped to 68. I also tried moving a DE to FB and his ratings stayed the same, except for his AWR. So it looks as though players of certain positions will be significantly impacted by changes, whereas others will be less impacted. An additional note, I recruited a FS with 91 SPD. When I moved him to SS or CB his SPD rating actually rose to 95! His OVR took a hit, but he had better SPD and retained his 65 TAK rating (can you say Dustin Fox?) I actually think this a good thing, since you can't just recruit MLBs and turn them into 85+ OLBs or 90+ DEs. I don't like the severe SPD loss though when moving a RB to FB.
