Advanced to Bowl Week.

User v. User game:
The Rose Bowl: #3 Iowa (MD Buckeye) vs. #4 Texas A&M (Piney)

=============== #1 Utah Utes (13-0) ===============
Last week, Utah won 24-21 against Washington (10-3).
#2 Utah will face #2 Oklahoma in the BCS National Championship.

=============== #3 Iowa Hawkeyes (12-1) ===============
Last week, Iowa won 35-23 against Wisconsin (10-2).
#4 Iowa will face #4 Texas A&M in the Rose Bowl.

=============== #4 Texas A&M Aggies (12-1) ===============
Last week, Texas A&M lost 34-27 against Missouri (10-3).
#1 Texas A&M will face #3 Iowa in the Rose Bowl.

=============== #8 Missouri Tigers (10-3) ===============
Last week, Missouri won 34-27 against Texas A&M (12-1).
#11 Missouri will face #22 USF in the Sugar Bowl.

After rebooting for a 2nd time I was able to log in... stupid PSN.

Now for the game... the reason I wasn't so excited about the previous win was knowing that fanatic was going to adjust enough and the SEC championship game was not going to be a cakewalk.

Heck, it seemed like a cakewalk playing the game. Even after Missouri takes the early 10-0 lead I didn't feel paniced at all and I came back. The key for fanatic was me not scoring at the end of the half knowing I was getting the ball to start the 2nd half. A double score by me would have ended this game... and fanatic probably knew it.

Even when we traded scores in the 3rd quarter I felt confident, I had the upper hand and was moving the ball well, the problem for me was converting those opportunities. Then in the 4th quarter all hell breaks loose.

Starts with me in scoring position and I decide to take a sack instead of throwing an INT... then that sack turned into a strip sack... FUMBLE!!!... then it was scooped up and returned for a TD :smash: (of course this made us even for insane sack turnovers as early in the game I hit fanatic's QB as he was throwing and my DE intercepted it, of course he got tackled right away versus rumbling 80 yards for a TD)

Then on next possession I am driving again and my QB shorts a TD pass as my WR had a step but it hung up there and it was intercepted. Fanatic converts that into a TD and all of the sudden I am down 2 TDs :bonk:

I think I throw another INT but fanatic is in run the clock mode and he goes 3 and out and I get the ball with 1:40 left. I complete a few passes as fanatic is playing prevent... then he fucks up. Don't know how but my WR beat his guy and the safety playing over the top was no where to be found and I completed a long TD pass and I am down 7 with ~1:20 left. Onside kick bounces off one of his guys but Missouri gets the onside kick and game over :(

I had that game... but blew it in the last quarter... :pissed::pissed::pissed:

Not sure yet which night will be best. If I don't go out Friday night, then Friday night will work best. But if I know I will go out Friday night... hopefully will know enough for us to get our game in Thursday night. Will let you know tomorrow.

I am thankful this season is over. I can't believe how mediocre this team was, especially considering how I've recruited. My offense is okay, but this defense is just bad. Every username it was missed tackles, poor coverage (mainly vs Piney), and inability to get pressure with my d line.

My defense will likely improve, but how much is my concern.

As for the game. Last meeting I tried to score with Piney and hope for mistakes, to no avail. I lost the T.O.P. battle pretty convincingly. This time around I tried to control the ball a little more, T.O.P. was more even. Piney moved the ball at will again, but the back to back turnovers of scores decided the game.

The first was an all out blitz from a 3-2-6 Dime. I ate up the RT with my DE so the CB was free off the corner and got the sack that caused the fumble/scoop/score.

Then the following play from scrimmage my CB jumped the underneath route for a pick-6.

Piney's final score was truly awful. I was in cover 2 man with conservative zone, so my safety should have been deep. His WR ran past the CB and my S went towards the line of scrimmage and never ran back. My CB wasn't within 5 yards, he must have tried to press at the line to get beat that bad.

Piney & I tried to give it a go tonight, but unfortunately my internet connection had been up & down all evening & we weren't able to play. I start back to work tomorrow & not off again until Friday, so not sure when we'll be able to try again. If we can't get something scheduled, I'm ok with a sim.

Yeah, my work schedule plus your work schedule means we aren't playing til Friday night. Unless of course if one of my kids get sick and I play hookie from work and/or I win the lottery and decide not to go to work the rest of this week :biggrin:

Just knew last night was not our night when it got to the coin flip I was controlling Iowa's actions and a few times it showed I wasn't even playing Iowa...

I feel bad cuz this would be my last game in this dynasty so I really want to play it. But doesn't seem right holding up this dynasty since I will be dropping after this game (well, after this post season stuff).

So will leave it up to Olaf (and the rest of you) to decide what to do. MD is fine with simming... and me to kinda... but a part of me does want to play it.

I definitely would like to play it, but I think EA has something against us lol (considering how many times we tried to play last time). I also have to help someone move on Friday, so it sounds like Friday is out for me as well.
