They told my kid they were #1 in the nation
They said, s'all good, don't worry 'bout probation

Come to SC, where it's all good livin'
Petey was cool, but so is Lane Kiffin

Cardinal and gold will be your new apparel
At practice we have a goof with Will Farrell

Stay in the dorm and wear some gold bling
Or stay at the Medici if that's your thing

That's where Matt's Dad put up Dwayne Jarrett
And where all the ladies came over to bare it

Come to LA where you'll love the fine weather
We can hook you up with two blondes named Heather

The Man can't nail us for any shit with Regge Bush
On the field he even got away with 'The Push'

Sure - they came around trying to dig up some dirt
But all they got was Eddie O rippin' off his shirt

The sanctions won't be bad, we're kept in the loop
Just come to LA, where we party with Snoop

We won' be losing that many football schollies
But all the Song Girls are some really fly dollies

The BCS Title every year is the goal
But if not, we'll still be playin' in a bowl

Don't believe any jive 'bout a postseason ban
Come out here and watch the babes work on their tan

They told my kid they were #1 in the nation
They said, s'all good, don't worry 'bout probation

G to the P to the A, Boyeeee!

But seriously, let's not revel in this, folks. It's sad that the the Trojans have this black mark on their history, though it sounds like just punishment.

Condolences to methomps.

I'm not fond of a system that can't do much of anything to affect the people who actually commit violations. It may encourage programs to self-police as they will bear the consequences, but a lot of kids who didn't do anything wrong wind up in the crossfire, which is shameful.
It is 2006. You are on your couch, flanked by your parents, evaluating the offers. You have heard all the sales pitches and are now deciding who you want to trust the next four or five years of your life to. The people you have entertained as guests in your own home include Pete Carroll, Charlie Weis, Jim Tressel, Les Miles, Mack Brown, and Urban Meyer, to name just a few.

I'm sorry, but if you chose Pete or Charlie over a JT or Mack Brown, you deserve whatever you have coming to you.

Henderson is even worse. He knew USC was going before the infractions committe. Even held of on his LOI until afterwards....and still picked USC.

Except.... Lane Kiffin was there...

Good. The cheaters get caught, Lane Kiffin inherits the nightmare that he deserves and the college football world is turning upside down this week. It's at times like these you have to love having Tressel as your coach.

A sad day for college football in any light. I'm glad they got their just deserts but not good for the institution.
Disagree completely. This is a great day. It shows that no program is above getting bitch slapped for wrongdoings. Kudos NCAA, didn't think you had it in ya...

Side note, who else thinks this is "just the tip"? One of the supposed sanctions is "limited recruiting contact". Think about that. Lane Kiffin. Sleazebag Ed Orgeron. How can they possibly not violate that stipulation. They could bring on the death penalty.
