</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>Q: How critical do you see this season being for the direction of the football program?

A: "I think every season at Notre Dame is critical. And I think we are going to demonstrate that we have improved and we are ready to take the next step. I don't think there is any question about that."

The STAY TUNED article has his rather positive view on the next few seasons!

AJHawkfan Wanna make $14 the hard way?

I was looking for something else when I stumbled across this interview. At least ND understand why they are certainly doesn't have anything to do with being competitive with the elite programs....

  3. JoJaBuckeye

JoJaBuckeye First we take Michigan--then the whole world!

So by ND's reasoning, if Girls Gone Wild takes up football, they should be included in the BCS, too.

    Glad we cleared that up.

I'm sure next season will the "one to remember" in South Bend
  6. ORD_Buckeye

    ORD_Buckeye Wrong glass, Sir.

The Domers have been handed four beatdowns in their last 14 games. That's almost once every third time they take the field. They've beaten no teams that have finished in the top-25 during Weis' two years.

How can they continue to cling to this cult of Weis and Quinn? Apparently, they've already written off next year, but seriously plan on being in the BCS championship game after the '08 season. What happens if, they're not? Even with the best of teams and coaches, things can go wrong. What happens if Clausen turns out to be the headcase that many are starting to predict? For proof, witness his pregame antics and subsequent gametime performance in the CA state championship game.
  7. As I said before I doubt Claussen starts next year and while ND will be far from great in 2007 they may be a little better than many think.

  8. Or more likely quite a bit worse as has been demonstrated the past several years...maybe it's the shirts that they release every year that proclaim ND as being "back"...maybe those need to go for them to be good again...

coastalbuck And this one belongs to the Reds!

The link to the article doesn't even work. Damn, I wanted some comedy before dinner...

That would be a nice change from them being far worse than they are hyped to be every year...

Exactly. That shows how flawed the system really is when ND gets into a BCS game ahead of someone like Wisconsin, or even Rutgers.........because they create more money. Capitalism at it's finest eh. Even if the team sucks and gets blown off the field
