I believe the Seattle/Portland area is the 2nd largest alumni base...don't quote me on that oh

Oops sorry. I quoted you...

Nebraska is looking pretty good from what I saw today. Couldn't watch the whole thing (wasn't getting it in HD, man it looked like shit, couldn't take it), but what I saw was very impressive. Would love to see you bring the Big IIX trophy with you to the Big Ten +2.

Big win for the Huskers. Lot of positives out of the game. Martinez played a great game for a redshirt freshmen. Did not care for the timing of the QB change before halftime .

I think this is going to be a team that is going to get better as the season goes along.

One article said he might have lost money in next years draft. Ouch.
Might have? You'd think after Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith and DeMarcus Russell that scouts/draft pundits could see past "physical tools"...I'm still laughing at Mark May raving about his "4.3 forty" yesterday.

Bo Pelini. Shoulda hired him when they hired Callahan.
Damn straight! He might not have been quite as ready back then, but he'd have been a hell of a lot better than Callahan. And we'd have had a great shot at ending up with Pelini as HC and focusing on the defense, with Turner Gill as OC focusing on the offense. Thanks, Bucks, for Pelini! :neb2:

Phoenix has their own red nation.
And DFW (North Texas Nebraskans) has 3 official watch sites, which almost always collectively draw over 500 for games, with over 1000 for big games not being unusual.

Not sure on the stats for where there are the most alumni/fans though.

One of the Big 12 sports writers did an article a few weeks ago looking forward through the upcoming season. His pick for "potentially most embarrassing moment" was Dan Beebe having to present the last Big 12 CC trophy to Bo Pelini & Tom Osborne in front of the TV cameras.

I admittedly thought Nebraska was going to be a let down that simply carried hype in from the previous season. They look like a real program. I think they may be the number 3 team in the country after this ass whooping.
And the dream matchup of OSU-Nebraska in the NC requires 'Bama to lose to someone during the season - because if both OSU and 'Bama run the table, I don't see the Huskers leapfrogging either of them, even if we are unbeaten.

According to Husker Pedia there was over 20,000 Husker fans in the stands at Washington today! Here is a pic someone posted of Husker Nation lined up outside of a sports bar Friday night in Seattle....

I've heard that, outside of the state of Nebraska, the Portland/Seattle alumni base is the largest for UNL... any truth to that?

Es verdad. The entire PNW has a LOT of 'Husker fans; however, Seattle's contingent is humongous.

There are a couple pubs in Seattle that carry all of NU's games each year:

I can see the photo in my head. 3 phony smiles on 3 faces. All 3 smiles saying the same thing..."Fuck You!"

You realize you may only be borrowing him, right? :wink2:

Well, his alma mater calling is definitely a risk - that and the NFL I think are the only possibilities for Nebraska losing him. I do think that Nebraska joining the Big Ten actually makes a jump to OSU less likely though - one (of many) things I like about the move! :)
