Where can one sign up to hit footballs into FG nets?! If there is such a monster, sign me up... There's AT LEAST 10 major D1 programs that could use a kicker right now. Too Tall to the rescue!

I can only imagine how rude it appeared, but please give our kicker the benefit of the doubt. If there is a school that appreciates sportsmanship and college football tradition, it's Nebraska. I'm sure it looked very bad, but I have to believe it was just a big mistake on our kicker's part.

I've read a bunch of Husker boards this morning and I haven't read 1 example of a Husker fan having a bad experience last weekend. Props to Buckeye nation for the hospitality.

I cannot comprehend what has happened to my beloved football team over the last decade. I grew up on the 80's and 90's Huskers. I haven't witness true Nebraska football in a very long time. All I know is our fan base has very high expectations and will never be content with these types of performances. Props to OSU and sorry we couldn't give you a better game. Time to go back to Husker world and figure out what the heck to do next...

And in this case it was a punter, I believe, warming up in front of the band. You'll see in the clip that one or two of the alumni band members went out on the field to catch the punt and all then the fun began.

In my heart of hearts I do not think there was some grand conspiracy to interupt script Ohio. If Bo Pelini at any point had a conversation with a kicker that had words like "go out there and practice from the 35 on the north end zone because thats where they dot the I" he is really fu****g stupid and thinking about things that do not matter as a football coach. A kicker wondered out on to the field and did somthing dumb is the likely scenario.

I saw this. I went into the ESPN game conversation for our game, and a bunch of tOSU fans were being total douches about this. Who gives a damn, honestly. But this does raise an interesting question:

Bo is an OSU alum. I'm sure he knows all about this tradition. Do you think he sent Maher and Bondi out on purpose? Or was it just an honest mistake?

Kickers came out before the main team... just like they always do so far as I can recall (they did last year in Wiscy and at home for Ohio State I believe). I think it was with about 5mins left of halftime. TBDBITL certainly lived up to its name, but did seem like an unusually long performance since they performed what appeared to be a full halftime set + script Ohio (which is impressive but takes a lot of time since it's so drawn out). Maher did move when one of the husker coaches moved the balls in closer so they stayed out of the way of the band, but of course since Ohio loves their band as much or more than their football, the fans certainly expressed their disdain everytime he was out to kick fgs (I don't think they knew he was doing kickoffs). It did have me wishing the kicking crew had waited along the sideline, yet I felt the band gave no leeway to football warmup routines.

Boy.....am I catching hell from a OSU "friend" about this. I can't believe anything disrespectful was intended. I guess the crowd yelling "as*****"" is OK though...........

I was at the game and I was pissed that they said we disrepected the band, when they completely disrespected the visiting team by not allowing them to have a warm up. Football was priority one and every team is supposed to be allowed to warmup at halftime. They had 20 min's to get it done and they did not. If they were running behind they should have removed one of the video game drawings. You do realize kickers can pull muscles not warming up right and also miss field goals for not getting to practice. I am sorry but had OSU not disrepected NU first, NU would not have (probably unintentional had they know how sacred this SCRIPT thing is) had 2 players run on the field to do what every football teams has always done at everygame and at every stadium and warm up and thus disrespecting OSU band people. PS our team didn't get to warm up because there was 1 min left when the script exited the field and the players got on the field.

Why would the kicker get a pass for something that would be considered rude at a local HS game let alone homecoming at a University where the band is held in the same high regard as the FB team?

Yep, and as Deety pointed out kickers are quite capable of warming up on the sidelines with the nets (which they do all the time).

Nebraska fans haven't yet been confronted with the issue of Husker players blocking Ohio State's entrance pre-game or the behavior of some of the players' parents (Burkhead's mom wasn't the only one) so as of yet there is no hive mind generated rationalization for those acts.
