Bigelow touched the ball only four times, with two of those breaking long TDs solely because of absolute-[Mark May] tackling. Cal "earned" 14 offensive points. As for "First one to 40 wins", the last team to score 40+ on us in The Shoe was Illinois in 1999, and our defense wasn't exactly stellar that year.

Well I did put a question mark after that 40. However don't forget we also gave up 512 yards to Cal at home and when's the last time we did that? Martinez is a heck of a lot better at throwing than Cal's QB too and Abdullah/Burkhead are better rushers

As far as Cal goes, I'll give credit to the kid that ran the ball..he did his job. However much like that MSU touchdown..it was a piss poor effort on our part.

The yardage the D has given up this year to Miami, Cal, UCF, and UAB IMHO was based on the old saying "they took what we gave em". It seemed we were in the giving mood all day long in those games. Call me a homer..I know I am anyway..but if the defensive scheme we used at MSU would have been in place against Miami..the QB goes to rehab. Hell Simon might have killed him that first or second series with the free run at him.

I'm thinking if our corners are up close to the line, it will be a long ride home for the Huskers. I think they are much better tacklers if they are right there at the point of attack as opposed to getting a running start with a "I'm going to make the sport center top 10 with this hit mentality". Equally important with them being up is it takes away the 5 yard outs completed 15 times in the first half and gives our D-line a chance to make a play. It also saves me from throwing inanimate objects at my screen.

So..A night game at THE SHOE! UFM as Coach! An electric atmosphere! TBDBITL! No recruit wanting to go anywhere else! Revenge Game #2!

IMO, OSU's seemingly impressive defensive performance last week had little to do with scheme or improvement by OSU. MSU isn't moving the ball on anyone.

Nebraska likely has the best offense in the conference and will easily move the ball tomorrow. I hope I'm wrong but this OSU defense is bad.

OSU's offensive scheme is also poor, IMO, and won't protect the D and won't keep up with the Huskers. Nebraska isn't very good at covering kicks and punts but NU has a better return game than OSU. I think overall this is as bad of a match up for OSU as it will face all season. If OSU can find a way to scratch this one out there is no one on the schedule OSU can't beat.

I am worried about the defense handling Martinez. We haven't been great in pass coverage now we have to worry about the QB pulling it down. Not to mention Burkhead is a great player. Fickell better have another stellar game plan. All I remember is these guys scoring and scoring fast on us last year in crunch time
