Reported in PD that Mike Brown wil become the next cavs head coach... I think its a pretty good choice because he has many good years ahead of him, hes cheaper than our other options, and he is a good defensive minded coach.
I don't see how you can expect a lot from an extremely young head coach whose team will be centered around the leadership abilities of a soon-to-be 21 year old. This is not the making of great things in one or two years' time. And the rumors of Larry Brown as President? Give me a break....Maybe Mike Brown will surprise me, but both of these moves are the wrong direction. Others are fans of Larry Brown, but I'm not in that camp.

I don't see "cheapness" as being a redeeming factor in picking a coach to work with the most marketable single athlete to hit the city since Jim Brown. The motto should have been more along the lines of "spare no expense." That being said, since Popovich and George Karl are not on the market, I can't propose a good alternative. :ohwell: I bet he's out there though....I just think someone over 40 would be a better captain. Hey, what's Lenny Wilkens doing these days?

First of all, nowhere in my post did I say my expectations of him... I think they will be a playoff team next year, which, new coach or not was a reality... second of all you should'nt even question lebron's maturity. I never thought he woul dbe able to lead the team, but he sure as hell has proved us wrong. Who did he have around him last year? Lucious Harris and Jiri Welsh. Good player to work with. You shouldn't even question lebron's maturity because he has handled the fame he has gotten with more class than the mojority of the athletes out there, and he is the leader of this team.

By the way another thing I'd like to add about this guy, every player that I've heard talk about him says they absolutely respect him which is important thing for a coach to have. One of the guys on the radio said they searched around to find something bad about this guy and they couldn't find anything... I think just because this is cleveland, everyone is jumping to conclusions that this guy is going to blow it, but I'm giving him a chance.

Young coach or not, I'm saying playoffs for the cavs this year with a second round exit...
