New format for the CCHA Playoffs

The CCHA conference held their annual spring meetings down in Florida last week. There have been two changes made during the meetings. For starters, each school is going to be required to put camera's inside the goal. This should assist a referee on goals that need to be reviewed. Second, and the major change of the two, is the format for the CCHA playoffs. For those new to hockey, I'll show how the tournament was this past year and how it would have been in the new system.

Old Playoff System
First Round - Best of 3 Series at campus location
No. 1 Michigan Vs. No. 12 ND
No. 2 Ohio State Vs. No. 11 Ferris State
No. 3 Northern Michigan Vs. No. 10 Western Michigan
No. 4 Nebraska-Omaha Vs. Lake Superior State
No. 5 Bowling Green Vs. No. 8 Alaska-Fairbanks
No. 6 Michigan State Vs. No. 7 Miami, OH.

Quarterfinals - Single Elimination at Joe Louis Arena
