NIT: #1 Ohio State vs. #3 Dayton, Wed. 9 pm at the Schott ( ESPN2)

Outside of Eric Gordon, I'd say that Roberts is the most complete scorer that tOSU has seen this year...

If that is the case, then we will have our work cut out for us......my opinion is that he will get his points but turnovers and the battle on the boards will be key for tOSU.....I think KK poses some problems for them.....it should be interesting to watch the early minutes of the game.

When UD had Wright as a healthy second option on offense, Roberts was averaging over 22 a game... After Wright went down everyone started throwing junk defenses at him and his total dropped to around 19 a game... B-Rob tends to play well in big games too... He put up 28 at Louisville and 31 against Pitt...

I don't like any part of the Koufos match-up... I think Huelsman can work him inside on offense, but we have no one that is going to be able to effectively guard him on the other end...

I'd take Ellington, Lofton, Neitzel, Graves just to name a few over Roberts...

Key word is COMPLETE... Those guys can score, but don't create their own shots like B-Rob... He can pull up from 3, drive to the hoop, hit the mid-range... Ellington sucked without Lawson creating things for him, Neitzel has to rely on Lucas creating, Lofton is strictly a spot-up guy, and Graves isn't the penetrator that B-Rob is...
B-Rob is a very similar player to Curry from Davidson...

That is very high praise. Who would you compare him to in the college game or would you have to go professional for a comparison?

I can' think of a comparison off of the top of my head but he is very versatile. He can shoot off the dribble, take guys one on one and finish around the hoop, work without the ball and come off screens, has a great mid-range jumper and and can hit 3's from anywhere on the court.

He puts up numbers with minimal shots. Some guys take 30 shots to score 30 points. He can score 30 points on 15 shots. efficient is the word I am looking for. I guess you could say he is a taller Jamar Butler but a better finisher in the paint.

This is probably the most accurate post on this thread. Roberts can score 20+ points as long as OSU handles their own on the defensive boards, forces turnovers using that full court press that worked so well against cal, and take advantage of the Koufus match up.

I have to admit I do not know much about Dayton this year.......from what I have gathered....they are a good team with several nice players including Roberts and Wright......they seem to know how to win on the road.....both teams have played top flight teams on the road.....faced NCAA teams....the question is if this Ohio State team can show the consistency they have had the past few weeks tonight or will we see the team that lost at Iowa? After watching them in person on Monday.....they have improved by leaps and bounds as far as understanding their individual roles on the team and what they EACH need to do to win games......I expect a close game......

I'd take Ellington, Lofton but not Graves and Neitzel. No offense to Graves, but putting him in the same league as Roberts is kind of an insult to Roberts
