NIU IN THE ORANGE BOWL!!!!

In 2014 the highest ranked non-BCS team gets an automatic bid to the 4 team playoff
Incorrect.

The highest-ranked of the teams in the Mountain West, Big East, MAC, Sun Belt, and Conference USA beginning in 2014 will play in one of the three "host", or open, bowls. They will not be in the four team playoff unless they are in the top 4.

Be careful what you wish for.

And don't rush out and buy a ticket. You should be able to pick one up on game day for about $4.00.

1000X this. I remember thinking about heading down to the Orange Bowl when Cinci played just because they were selling lower bowl tickets for about $5 each and nosebleeds were a $1. Hell, when Iowa played GT a couple years ago, I went and they were selling those tickets for about $15 right before kickoff (that may have been due to the extremely unseasonably cold night we had, think it dipped to the mid 30s that night.)

Seriously, if you are planning on making the trip, just buy the tickets outside the stadium before you go in.. It will save you a bundle.

Waiting for all the resident Herbie lovers to come on defending him...

It would be one thing if he was like ORD_Buckeye and just hated all small schools for every reason all the time. But he had so much saliva built up for Boyzee State's knob for those 3-4 years that it seems just a little laughable now that he would be all "small schools don't deserve their shot" all of a sudden.

Here. I'll beat everyone to it.

Tickets for the 1998 Rose Bowl were going for $15 outside the stadium. Those were primo priced the night before - but the day of the bottom drops out.

I don't know who takes the bath in these situations, but it can be comical.
