Non-BCS, non-Big Ten bowls...the good, the bad, and the ugly

My thoughts:

The good:

Boise State vs. TCU: Couple of good mid-majors should pull out all the stops
West Virginia vs. UNC: Don't care for either team, but should be a good game
Oklahoma State vs. Oregon: Fireworks abound in this one
Oregon State vs. Pitt: 2 teams that won a lot of close games and games against weaker competition...who's for real?
Rice vs. Western Michigan: 2 under-the-radar teams who should throw the ball quite a bit and put some points up

The bad:

NCSt vs. Rutgers: The way Rutgers finished, this has blowout written all over it.
BC vs. Vanderbilt: Vandy was in a tailspin the last half of the year (shock, shock) and BC was playing pretty well until the ACC title game.
LSU vs. Georgia Tech: LSU is way down this year, and Tech can run like crazy and is playing a de facto home game at the dome.

The ugly:

Colorado State vs. Fresno State: This game is so 6 years ago.
Memphis vs. South Florida: Neither team could really beat anyone down the stretch.
Southern Miss vs. Troy: This game is so 3 years ago.
Florida Atlantic vs. Central Michigan: What fan hasn't been clamoring for this obvious heavyweight matchup for years?
Northern Illinois vs. LA Tech: What the...
Maryland vs. Nevada: The empty fridge versus the bullet-less pistol. Quite the barnburner on the blue turf. Not.

and of course...

Hawaii vs. Notre Dame: It may be must-see TV for the storylines, but it might be a horse abortion of a football game.

I like Ball State-Tulsa. Both of them were top-20 at one point, which is weird because they're Ball State and Tulsa.

Maryland-Nevada will probably be a blowout. It's worth watching to find out which one gets the beatdown. Maryland's capable of beating a lot of good teams, but sometimes they decide not to show up for games and get destroyed.

FAU is gonna get clocked. Minny blew their doors off, and Weber and LeFevour are very, very similar quarterbacks, only LeFevour's better.

Only 4 teams with 6 wins not to make a bowl: Bowling Green (6-6), Arkansas State (6-6), San Jose State (6-6), and Louisiana-Lafayette, who was 7-5, finished 2nd in the Sun Belt, almost beat Illinois, yet Florida Atlantic (6-6) went instead. Go figure.

The Good:
Ball State/Tulsa- They will light up the scoreboard
Oregon vs. Oklahoma State- See above
Rice vs. Western Michigan- Ditto
Georgia vs. Michigan State- Javon Ringer vs. Knowshon Moreno

The Bad:
NC State vs. Rutgers- Mike Teel is on fire; NC State's QB is not exactly Phillip Rivers
Kentucky vs. East Carolina- This will be ugly for the Cats

The Ugly
Boston College vs. Vanderbilt- First to 12 points wins!
Northern Illinois vs. Louisiana Tech- Flip a coin- that's more fun than this dud.
