(non-BP) FF Wk1: Flex play help!

Hi all,

I'm in a (pretty) high stakes league this year, so I thought I'd ask advice of the board weekly for my flex position play (WR, TE, or RB). Scoring for my league is:

Yards: 1 pt every 10
TDs: 6 pts each
Catches: 1 point each
2 Pt CNV: 2 pts
NO points for returns (they are DEF points)

This week's options at the flex:

WR J Walker, Oak (DEN)
RB K Watson, Cin (@BALT)
TE H Miller, Pitt (HOU)
RB D McCallister, NO (TB)
WR D Hester, Chi (@INDY)
WR J Hardy, Buf (SEA)
RB A Bradshaw, NYG (WASH)

Greenies for taking the time...thanks a lot!

That is alot of crappy players for a flex position. None of those RBs will get you much, or should I say be trusted to get you much. Thankfully it is a PPR league. With a gun to my head I probable would start Heath Miller cuz he should get a few catches. But I would be tempted to start Bradshaw since he is the 3rd down back and can get some catches too.

Thanks for the vote of confidence :slappy:

It's a 12 team league with 2RB/3WR/TE starters, so there is going to be a deeper player at the flex position.

Ahmad Bradshaw is not guaranteed any amount of carries... with points per catch, I'd consider Miller.

Deuce would normally be the safest pick, but with coming off of injury, he's a big gamble too.

who else was available when he was drafted? depending on when your draft was, that doesn't seem too reachy.

I'll have to look back when I'm not at work (filters and shit) but I recall quite a few obvious guys like Ginn that will definitely be 1s or strong 2s (albeit on maybe weaker teams) that were still on the board. I dunno...I guess if the guy was already set at his 3 WR positions and was looking for some upside, it was a good pick, but I recall that being his 2nd or 3rd choice. If Curtis comes back faster than expected Jackson's #s could dwindle as the season progresses, though he looks really good the first few weeks with all the injuries.

No, I didn't, because I had heard rumblings he was still 3rd on the depth chart...I went with Miller, figuring him to steal a TD and a few catches against Houston at home.

Unfortuntely, the guy I was playing had Plex, who had a career game...but no TDs, so I'm not dead yet, but my WRs need to come up big Sunday.

That was the same arrangement as last year... Jacobs is the franchise back, Ward the 3rd down back (who stretches to the starter when Jacobs goes down), and Bradshaw is sprinkled in. Previously you had Droughns in there too.

The average draft position for Bradshaw in my group as a whole (all drafts) was pick 120, so right around round 10...absolutely insane for a guy who hardly touched the ball until everyone else got hurt. I took him in the 15th round as my 5th RB.
