Non-Official Titans Fans Draft Page

Only Thing Good About Ohio, THE BUCKEYES!!
I'm a big Titans fan. I'm excited as heck for the '07 season. I smell playoffs BUT they need a really good draft and will have to fill some positions via free agency. Well let the debating begin!!!!

Oh yes and my take. We need weapons for Young. 30th in the league for passing won't get you in the playoffs. The last WRs they've drafted haven't done well, at least as #1 guys. Jarrett would be nice but I doubt he'll be available. I think they could get the 2nd best WR in the draft, Robert Meachem of The Univ. of Tennessee. I see Mel Kiper jr. has him in the lower half of his big board. But I think Young would be really happy with Meachem. I actually think he'll be a more productive WR in the NFL the Jarrett, Ginn (oh i don't want to hear it) or Rice. He had 67 catches, 1265yds and 11 tds. That's in the SEC. Yeah the same conference the Raiders would have a .500 record in. Blocking of course is always a priority for the Titans and Fisher would be tempted to take Levi Brown but I doubt it very much he'll be there.
The defense has problems stopping the run. Hell, they where 30th in the league against the run. They actually got better as the season went on at stopping the pass because of there pass rush and PacMan spending more time on the field then in a defense attorneys office. They end up being 8th against the pass. It would be nice to get a big DT to stop the run. Somebody who is jumping up the board, unfortunately getting noticed more, is Amobi Okoye. He's a beast weighing 310+ and showed great ability to eat up blocks. I don't see Fisher drafting DeMarcus Tyler because off the field issues and reports that he doesn't have the smarts for the NFL. Paul Posluszny is somebody nobody is talking about. No way can we forget what he did '05 and maybe over shadowed by the play of Dan Conner this season and it seems now he's a little under appreciated He's a leader, blue collar player, academic All-American and a big time tackler. I would love to see him and Bullock controlling the middle of the field together.

NFLdraftcountdown seems to like DE Adam Carriker out of Nebraska, who did well at the senior bowl.

Jarrett is the 2nd best WR, behind CJ. Meachem might be a reach in the mid first.

:slappy: Um, no.

He actually would fit in nice. Of course for running downs, but not on 3rd downs. I have him below Okoye, but i kind of got off track after not seeing Paul Posluszny in most "analyst" top 32 or going in the 1st round. Am I missing something about Paul? Man, I think it's only going to fuel him more to become a great LB. What's your take on Paul P?

:shake: you can't really believe that.

no i'm not serious. raiders r in the nfl. with nfl players and some nfl caliber coaches. no way can an college team keep up with the speed, talent and size at ever position.
i'd like to here some peoples take on Paul P. as an NFL player.

I'm a Titans fan too. And I think with the surplus of excellent wide receiver's in the draft that they should definitely take advantage of that and get one in the first round. Personally, I'd like to see Ginn fall to them, and with his ankle and the possibility of him not being able to take full advantage of his speed and athleticism at the combine, I don't think it's impossible for him to fall that far.

Bennet going going gone?

Keep hearing rumors of the Titans not signing Drew Bennett. Watching the Titans let Drew go is more evidence of them looking at getting a WR in the draft with the 19th pick. Plus he never turned out to be a #1 guy. They spent good money on David Givens last year and he doesn't even look like he'll be ready for the beginning of the season. Norm Chow has been honest and says this offense doesn't need a #1 WR. I disagree. Titans need a guy that can catch and that can get open because that's what these guys can't do. Besides Givens the WR core is way inconsistent. They run poor routes and when Young gets outside the pocket they still can't get open to make a play. Well, I hope they have a plan because it doesn't look like Young will have options this season but like he did last year.

I doubt Chow thinks the offense can thrive on ineffective WRs... I haven't read that quote of his, but with VY's versatility and Ten's running game, they may be fine with two solid #2 caliber wrs.

I don't understand your last statement... if their options were so inconsistent/ineffective, then can't one effective rookie help change that?

No I'm joking guy. Raiders have a good defense. Keep Ryan as the defensive cord. and now they have a "kid" as a coach. Wow, was that "kid" shaking during his press conference.

Hey now!!! Don't be dicking on the Raiders. That's the job of 27 and myself.

Norm Chow has said he doesn't need one receiver designated as the primary threat. source tennessean.com writer PAUL KUHARSKY.

Yeah a WR can do that and this is the deepest WR draft since '96 so why not now. What I meant is the guys they have now, the guys they spend 2nd round picks on, haven't worked out. Hopefully they will resign Bennett and draft either Jarrett, Ginn, Dwayne Bowe or Mechem.
Other big need they have is at CB and they can address that need with there 2nd round pick. Marcus McCaley will be nice from Fresno St.
