NCAA leaves door wide open to academic misconduct with handling of UNC case

There is no more academic fraud. Cheating might as well be a major.

The NCAA made it so Friday. North Carolina got off scot-free in the mother of all academic misconduct cases. Not even a slap on the wrist, not a speeding ticket. Not even a warning.

Even Tar Heels drinking the Carolina blue Kool-Aid had to be surprised Friday.

A case that the NCAA's own enforcement department said provided North Carolina "a competitive advantage" ended finally and pathetically.

I saw we reclaim the 2010 football games and the 2010 B1G title that Mean Gene agreed to vacate because several of our players got discounted tats (yet still went to classes).
Yeah....anybody who vacated wins over shit like a couple hundred dollars here or there should start re-printing media guides with an * next to things like the Sugar Bowl.

Then at the bottom of the page where it shows what the * is for, just have a middle finger emoji.

Selling(your own) memorabilia is FAR worse than skipping class and being given grades. Duh Mili 8D

It always makes me laugh when fans bring up teams that cheated to win games, titles, etc, and bring up OSU. Like getting tattoos for gold pants creates a competitive advantage when Ole Miss is paying off top recruits and UNC is allowing kids to cheat to remain eligible

On the serious side, rulings like this make it difficult, if not impossible, for the acamedicians to control their athletic departments.

I see a future president forming a select committee to look into the NCAA and college athletics and producing a reform program, ala Teddy Roosevelt and the NCAA.
