Not a dead hooker, but a drunk guy in my living room

Ghost Recon

Did it go Poof?
Woke up this morning, made some coffee and was watching the news. We have a living room upstairs so thats where I was. I hear something, but didn't think too much about it, we have a dog so nothing unusual. 30 seconds go by and I hear footsteps. Now, I mute the tv, intently listening for anything. I hear a voice, mumbling, I can't understand what was said. I then smell cigarette smoke, my wife and I don't smoke. I grab the phone, and call 911.

Dispatcher: what's the nature of your call?
GR: I'm pretty sure a guy is in our house
Dispatcher: are you alone?
GR: Kinda, me and whoever is downstairs
Dispatcher: Ok...Just sent two units to your house, can you stay on the line with me?
GR: Yes
Dispatcher: are you upstairs then?
GR: Yes
At this point I kinda don't remember our conversation. I look out a window from the upstairs and see two patrol cars pull up. I stick my head out the window, and they said "are your doors locked?" I told them I'm pretty sure they are. So they check both doors and they are both locked.
Police: We think we know who is in your house
GR: OK (I'm thinking that's great but what the hell am I to do)
Police: your going to have to come downstairs and unlock the door.
GR: Alright (Now I'm thinking if he has a gun I'm fucked, all I had was a pair of scissors. Sure wish I had a gun)
I don't know who, and what this person has on them and why they are in my house. O.K. put some shoes on and tried to get ready for what ever was in store for me.

I go running downstairs and find this guy with his back to me just standing in my living room. I yelled, "What the Fuck are doing in my house? And then I bowed up on this guy. He was 5'8 maybe 155 lbs 40-50 years old. He said sir please don't hit me, don't hit me, don't hit me. I went to unlock the door and the cops cuff him and take him away.

I have always thought of this type of scenario in my head and how I would react. I didn't react the way I thought I would. FYI, he came through the kitchen window, the window didn't have a lock on it. So that's what I'll be doing today.

your name is "ghost recon" and you don't own a gun...? *ponders*

2nd thought, why not pass the house keys out the window to the cops?

3rd thought, why do you have an access point in your home that doesn't require breakage to enter? isn't your name "ghost recon"? you of all people should know the ease at which you can gain access to a "secure" facility...

j/k :p. glade to hear it was a drunk looking for a place to sleep and not a coke head aggresively looking for something else.
