Notre Dame Fighting Irish (official thread of bowl failures)

Highest ratings in 30 years and Notre Dame moved the needle. That it was against Ohio State was, apparently, just a coincidence.

Does this person not realize that NBC has been the Notre Dame broadcast channel for 30 years now? They are the constant for NBC, not the variable.

Think of all their matchups over the last 30 years. All the Michigan games. All the USC games.

But it was this game against Ohio State that topped the charts.

He's an ND beat writer who wasn't even alive 30 years ago, but he knows his audience - make it all about the Irish.

I said to our ND visitor in the thread he started that if Freeman couldn’t win this one, they really had to take a hard look at what the have in him.

Well….

I'll say the same thing about Freeman that I said about Day - Notre Dame shouldn't be someone's first HC job. Huge brand, national spotlight, and unrealistic expectations are a lot to handle while figuring out how to be a head coach. Big name programs can always attract a head coach with experience.

I think Cincinnati would've been a better place for Freeman, but he wasn't going to turn down ND when they offered it to him. Few would.
