I just can't stand the ISO plays on every 1st down...especially with Schnittker getting killed. Also, why did the slip screen, although a great call IMO, go to Roy Hall? Why not Ginn, Bam, or Holmes? After re-watching the game, the line is not to blame for many of the running woes.

Totally agree Grad, the ISO play all the time just grinds me. Ross just doesn't see the hole, he just runs to where it is supposed to be. I like the call to Hall and think they need to go to him more to complement Holmes.

Personally I am not that impressed with Bam. First he has a hard time catching the ball on a consistent basis. Secondly as a senior he should know to get to the first down marker before he sets down on his route on third down. There were at least two times that he stopped his route short on third down in crucial game situations.

That being said when he does get the ball in his hands he has and can make some great runs. Hopefully the coaches will point some of those things out in film.

hey on comments about Bam Childress I think you're way off. He has been consistent catching the ball we just never throw him the thing thats all. Also the part bout him not getting to the sticks for a first down wasn't his fault! it was a very poor spot on the play and he wouldv'e got the first down had he gotten a proper spot. Also yes he got tackled maybe 2 yards short on a first down but it was a designed play if you watch Holmes on the outside would run his man off, and bam as the slot man would sit down on a 5 yard hitch and try to make something happen. Now maybe he didnt' get the other 5 yards but hell he got 3 yards after he caught the ball. If he wouldv'e ran a 10 yard route (which I think the coaches should call considering we need a first down) on that play Zwick wouldv'e prolly ended up throwing the ball away because of the change in route. Also Bam would prolly get torn a new one if he had run a different route.

MililaniBuckeye Question about O-line ??

I notices that Minnesota has a very effective running game. I also know they
Man-block on their O-line. OSU Zone-blocks as not to give away the run/passing plays to the other teams. I did see several OSU missed blocks and that our guys
were not sustaining blocks at times. Do you think our running "challenges" have anything to do with the blocking scemes or is just a matter of our guys getting the fundementals down ??

I thought OSU did very well in pass blocking but needed to work on sustaining blocks while run blocking and that effected our run game alot.

I saw penetration past/through the RG position on a routine basis. Now, by now means are the other OL guys a tower of strength, but defficiencies at RG were glaring. Add to that FB/TB/TE's inability to block, and there you have the recipe of a struggling ("non-existent" would be right choice of ward) offense.

I'm not hacking on Bam, Power just relating how I saw it. It happened twice, once he sat down just about a half yard in front of the marker, the second time a yard. My comments on Bam's ability to catch the ball are based on watching him drop passes over the last four years.
