2025 OH CB Dawayne Galloway

Galloway is visiting OSU this weekend. I'm thinking there could be an offer. And then things get interesting

Birm is raising a bunch of red flags on this one. He previously pushed back on why Ohio State wasn’t in on a local kid by questioning the camping decisions, and after this weekend’s visit he indicated he’d guess Galloway is closer to 5’11” than 6’2” while guessing he’s under 170.

Bringing it back to the decision to camp, Birm called out exaggerated numbers when you don’t camp to verify.

This is apparently Tayvion Galloway’s cousin, and he’s reportedly associated with the same trainer who talked trash about Ohio State on numerous occasions in that recruitment.

In the case of Tayvion, the trainer exaggerated his numbers, got national offers, talked trash about Ohio State (in a misguided attempt to encourage an offer?), Tayvion committed to LSU, camped there and had his offer pulled, and is now deciding between Purdue and Central Florida.

Long story short, this seems like round two of this cycle and I doubt Dawayne ends up at Ohio State after Birm’s report from the weekend and the people he’s associated with.

Can confirm - the city league in Columbus is Godawful this year. At best this kid is an athlete with a good motor because his skills and understanding will be very raw. It's a hard sell to see him at Ohio State or really any Big Ten school.
Thanks for the insight, always helpful to know the level of competition. We're looking at a very real chance of Woodby, Brew and Sanchez at CB...so to get an offer at CB will be tough to come by this year imo. Not saying a door could not open, but right now I would put this recruitment in the peripherals.

Also what needs to be considered as well, is Brew could grow into a S. But Mark Zackery from IN is also uber talented, and most importantly, he HAS an offer. The staff has no pressure to even offer Galloway if they don’t think he aligns with the program on and off the field

The offers keep pouring in for the 2025 four-star cornerback from Columbus (Ohio) Marion Franklin but after being at Georgia over the weekend, the Bulldogs are now the team to beat. Talking with coach Kirby Smart and position coach Fran Brown stood out the most as it was made clear that Galloway was a top priority and could commit at any time. Purdue, Penn State, Michigan, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Missouri and Tennessee are all involved but Georgia has leapt ahead.

His cousin trashed Ohio State, “committed” to LSU, “decommitted” from LSU aka was asked to leave, and is now committed to Purdue. Seems like a similar recruitment
I think the common denominator is more their trainer who trashed OsU even more. Dawayne doesn’t seem as much of a loud mouth as his cousin. But I think he’s just too raw, and OSU has very good opportunities with higher rated CBs. @RB07OSU listed several of them.

I agree with you. I guess my point is if I had a trainer that trashed a local school that I wanted to go to, I would either leave them or vocally state I didn’t agree with them. That hasn’t happened with the Galloway family
