Glad to see the bananas up!! Not listed as a very big kid, but he looks to play with lots of physicality and has a knack for making plays. I'm sure the staff has seen what he can do in person, and to offer him on his visit tells me that there was definitely a lot of thought in this move on the staff's side. Excited for the kid and for our team.Birm with the FC after Powers’ visit
This was the offer he was waiting for
I just messaged his mom who’s ecstatic at the offer and the possibility for him to be a Buckeye!

His game is similar to Ronnie Hickman’s. I spoke with my buddy who coaches at Centerville and he said that Reggie is used as a playmaker in space, and that he’s relied upon to keep plays in front of the DBs, while they have deep S for the coverage on deep routes. So honestly, he’d fit perfect in the Knowles 3 Safety system. We don't miss on Centerville kids that have offers, love it. Motion for thread title change to Reggie "Special" Powers for obvious reasons, we did it for Gabe so why not on Reggie lol.
Watched his film and there is a ton to like. Big hitter, closing speed on the ball is excellent, sifts through blockers on run plays and is really great at getting to the LOS to hit the ball carrier. What I didn't see a ton of is coverage downfield, so seeing him in a 7 on 7 setting would be nice (I am sure the staff has seen him in that coverage, I just mean me the armchair quarterback). Seemed a tad stiff in man coverage and a couple plays where he didn't get his head around when the ball was arriving but again, not much film in that regard so I am curious to see how he fares in the camp circuits.
Side note - if Reggie keeps growing, I could see him as a Darron Lee type OLB with his tackling ability and comfort level near the LOS. Tough to tell on film how big he is but I don't think LB is outside the realm of possibility with how he plays.
