Game Thread Ohio 14, Ohio State 26 (Sept. 6)

Heading to the locker room:

- O-Line needs to get off their stance and hold these guys better. They started to come together nicely towards the end of the second half.

- QB play is solid. Boeckman is making smart throws, not forcing it in. He may not have any TD's, but most important - he has 0 Int's.

- RB's are giving it all they got. We can't blame them for not getting yards if they are being stopped in the backfield or at the line of scrimmage. But solid effort by all 3 so far.

- WR's need to get open and hang on the balls coming their way. Their job is 2 things - get free and catch the ball.

- D-Line is getting the pressure on the QB to scramble away, but after that he seemingly ends up making a play out of it. Which brings me to:

- LB's. Where is Lil Animal and Freeman at? I haven't heard much of their names today. Once the Line puts that pressure on Boo, they need to step up and crack his ass.

- DB's. Okay fellas, you are holding it down decently. I know we have some players out with injuries and suspensions, but you are stillan Ohio State DB, that must mean you know how to play this position very very well.

Positives: Picks were awesome to see, Special teams (returns excluded) have been solid, QB decisions are smart. We are doing well, but we can be doing better. Things will change come second half, keep your heads up! because we are THE Ohio State University.

I could care less what the damn "experts" think. In 2002 we squeeked games out all season long and despite the ESPN talking heads, we were crowned champs that season.

GO BUCKS!!! :biggrin: :oh::io:

Good points.. what bugs me the most, is that the defensive ends are flushing this guy out of the pocket nearly every play, but where are the LBs coming in to clean this guy's clock?

Seriously, are we just dropping 7 into pass coverage?

When Thad and Lawrence rush this guy out of the pocket, there needs to be someone there to fly in and make the tackle

The only problem with the tweaking by theory of the way to the NC championship game this year is that we won't get voted there if we just tweak by after two losses in NC games.

That said, Jim Tressel manages games for a season. He's managing this game and next week in his play calling. He'll adjust at half-time. The Buckeyes are far better in skill. They will do what it takes to win.

Credit to the Bobcat QB for his escapability. However, he was very fortunate in getting away but it will catch up to him in the 2nd half.

I totally agree Steve. We are trying to win this game on skill alone. Only in that last drive did we add a little praline to the vanilla. Its getting tough to watch but I'm hoping the method works its way out of the madness, soon.

Again the Wr's are pathetic right now, and we have zero big play threat out on the field. Not from Robo, Boeckman, Herron, Saine, Wells, HARTLINE, Posey, Small, and Sanzo. STEP UP dammit and win this damn ball game.

I dunno, I think Small has been clutch this season when we have needed him. He ended last week with the second mot receiving yards and today he is giving it all he has. He isn't calling for a "fair" catch when on the return - which could be dumb, but he is trying to make the most out of every opportunity. As for Boeckman, he's scrambling and putting his body out there, we can't blame him for dropped passes or sloppy blocks.
